Introduction Carbon dioxide and gases affect trees becuase of the polluted air. BBC news states that carbon dioxide and gas spills are fracking sites, this means that they wanna extract carbon dioxide and gas. Humans affect carbon dioxide and gas by using it 24/7. We need oil and gas for cars and boats. The current known causes are stopping growth. This happens in the ocean or like lakes and rivers. Or like road spills because trucks can carry gas and oil. Mostly oil and gas spills happen in the ocean which kills many animals. The scientific name for our species is Rosa. The biome that our species lives in is a Tropical Biome. Roses are from tropical biomes, where there’s wind and low humidity. The producers make their own energy from sunlight or from some light source during photosynthesis. The consumers in the food chain are the rose, a greenfly, a blue tit, and a hawk.

Research Question? Our investigative question is “If humans use gasoline then rose population will decrease due to the affect in the atmosphere.”

Hypothesis! Our hypothesis is “If gas affects the environment, then the rose population will decrease because of change it atmosphere.

Methods Independent Variable

Dependent Variable

The independent variable is the population of the roses.

The dependent variable is the smoke/carbon dioxide.

Length of Study Our length of study was 10 days

Control Group For our control group we left the rose in water to keep it living. The control group had one rose and water. We gave the rose food to keep it living & healthy. Our rose started to die slowly towards the end of our experiment.

Treatment Group We gave new water everyday, we lighted a match and used it’s carbon dioxide. Throught the days we all saw a difference. The rose had died. Smoke kills plants!

Pre-Data The control group rose was 12 inches on the first day. Our experimental group’s rose was 15 inches.

Post-Data The control group’s rose was 10 inches on the last day. Our experimental group’s rose was 11 inches on the last day.
