Dear Comrades As of this newsletter we are at 103% in membership. We need 105% for our Quartermaster to make “All American”. We can do it with your help. You should know someone we can sign up. We are spending a lot of money mailing out Booster renewal notices. To eliminate this expense I am changing all memberships from June 30th to June 30th of the following year. Bob Popp will email all members in April to remind them that it is time to renew their membership. If you haven’t already paid your dues, send a check for $25 or you may prorate at $2 per month to June 30, 2014. I have a very exciting opportunity to go to Normandy in June 2014 if my paperwork is approved. It is an all expense paid trip. Thanks to all who are making this trip possible, especially Fred Robinson for his help. Keep our troops in your prayers till they are all home with their loved ones. GOD BLESS AMERICA UNITED WE STAND

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has updated the list of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships that operated in Vietnam, adding more ships and expanding information for others. There are now 285 ships on the list. The list can help Vietnam-era Veterans find out if they qualify for presumption of Agent Orange exposure when seeking disability compensation for related diseases. The ship list is available on the VA website http:// www.publichealth.vagov/exposures/agentorange/shiplist.asp. To search for your ship, look under the first letter of the formal ship name. For example, if your ship's name is Dennis J. Buckley, look under the letter "D" for Dennis. Ships will be regularly added to the list based on information confirmed in official records of ship operations. Currently there are 285 ships on this list. Veterans who served on open sea ships off the shore of Vietnam during the Vietnam War are sometimes called "Blue Water Veterans." Blue Water Veterans must have actually stepped foot on the land of Vietnam or served on its inland waterways anytime between January 9, 1962 and May 7, 1975 to be presumed to have been exposed to herbicides when claiming service-connection for diseases related to Agent Orange exposure. Check VA's list of U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships that operated in Vietnam. Evidence confirmed through military records must show that the Veteran was aboard one of these ships.
