JUNE OSBORN (TRYON) June passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, April 26, 2010 in the Vernon Hospital in her 98th year. She was born June 5, 1912 in Kirkby Lonsdale, England and moved with her family to Parksville in 1914. Starting at an early age, horses became her passion and continued throughout her life. As a youngster, she met Mada (Moilliet) Rendell and they became life long friends. It was through Mada that June was introduced to ‘CD’ Bill Osborn. They were married in Parksville in 1937 and resided in Lavington until Bill took on the role of General Manager of the Coldstream Ranch in 1953. They retired to their property in the Coldstream in 1976. Always an active volunteer, June was a life member of the Vernon Riding Club, Girl Guides of Canada, Coldstream Women’s Institute and one of the founding members of Therapeutic Riding Assn., Pony Club and Lavington Ladies Work Group. June was predeceased by Bill in 2000 and leaves to mourn her passing and to celebrate an amazing life well lived, four children: Bob (Maureen), Edmonton; Ted (Carolyn), Coldstream; Diane (Geza) Toth, Vernon; Peter (Cherry), Vernon; and friend and “daughterâ€? Madeline Moilliet. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Josta Tryon and Ethel Tryon of Parksville; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and very special relatives and friends everywhere. A celebration of June’s life will be held on Friday, May 7th at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Vernon with Reverend Bob Thompson ofďŹ ciating. In lieu of owers, she would be delighted to be remembered with a donation to the North Okanagan Therapeutic Riding Assn., PO Box 328, Vernon V1T 6M6 OR the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 – 27 Avenue, Vernon V1T 1S4.

GERHARDA “CARRIE� BRONGERS

Elsie Tabak

1921-2010

was born on October 20th, 1914 in Esk, Saskatchewan and passed away on April 27th, 2010 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 95 years. She was a child of God through faith in the death and resurrection of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

With her loving family by her side, Carrie Brongers, at the age of 88 years, passed away peacefully at her residence in Vernon, BC, April 28, 2010. On November 21, 1921, Carrie was born in Holland. She will be forever missed by her sons Bert (Leanne), John (Nancy); daughter Diana (Robert) Esau; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband Jantinus Brongers and siblings predeceased her. In respecting Carrie’s wishes, there will be no service. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Carrie’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, #104, 3402 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S1. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Michael, after only ten years of marriage. She is survived by nieces, nephews and their families; and some very close friends, among them being Ruth Karr and Queenie Stoner. Elsie leaves a legacy of volunteering in many Vernon rest homes. She was a determined lady, living alone in her own home until just recently. Gardening brought her much joy and many others beneďŹ ted from the results. Her other passion was the sharing of the good news of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ to all people groups around the world. A Graveside Service will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery on Monday, May 3rd, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Erik Reimer ofďŹ ciating. Refreshments and a sharing time will follow at Faith Baptist Church, 3908-27th Street.
