Music downloads

The biggest increases in circulation were among digital materials, with e-book and digital audiobook borrowing up 16% and music downloads up 41%. Additional increases are anticipated for FY 2015–16 as these services evolve and streaming components are added.

Summer Reading Summer Reading Club remains our most popular library-wide initiative. In summer 2014, 474 adults, 275 teens, 1176 school-aged children, and 264 infants and toddlers participated.

World Books from community donations and other materials. Of those, 69% were recycled and 31% were reused. None were added to a landfill. 3,099 withdrawn books were donated to the VA, senior centers, and other community organizations.

to the St. Mary of Vernon Food Pantry from our library garden, grown and harvested by volunteer families and groups.

We worked with including the Lincolnshire Garden Club, Lions Club, Move for Hunger, Lurie Children’s Hospital, Cara’s Cookies, The Pajama Program, SWALCO, Vernon Township, Von Sydow Movers, Zenegler Cleaners, and others to provide opportunities for patrons to give back to the local community through Food for Fines, the Glass Slipper prom dress collection, a pajama and bedtime book collection, Reuse-aShoe, Toys for Tots, and various adult and family service projects.
