WHAT IS CHALL8NGE THE GIRLS?
Chall8nge the Girls is an Amazing Race event that will serve as a thesis project by Organizational Communication students from De La Salle University Manila in cooperation with the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP). The event aims to introduce the "8-Point Challenge" of GSP to its target public. GSP is a non-profit organization with a mission and vision of instilling the principle of womanhood, promoting holistic growth in girls aged 4 to 21 years and molding them to become responsible Filipino citizens. In line with developing young women, GSP promotes themes called the 8-Point Challenge which serves as a guide in conducting their programs and activities. The 8-Point Challenge are as follows: Challenge of Spirituality and Well-being, Challenge of Family Life, Challenge of Economic Self-sufficiency, Challenge of Environment, Challenge of Preparedness, Challenge of Heritage and Challenge of Citizenship, Challenge of Arts, and Challenge of World Community.
WHEN & WHERE?
Chall8nge the Girls will be held in La Mesa Eco Park on March 15, 2014. It will be from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Free transportation will be provided by the thesis group. No extra payments shall be collected from the participants.
The targeted participants for the event are girls ages 16 to 21 years old. Their participation to this event will give them a better understanding of and appreciation to what Girl Scouting is all about in the Cadet/College level. Two teams of 5 members each are needed per university/college. The expected number of participants is 100, accomodating a total of 20 competing teams from different universities/colleges in Metro Manila.
