LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA JANUARY 25-27, 2015 Jan. 30, 2015
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Los Angeles, Calif.— On January 25-27th, over 675 global and California market-makers gathered under one roof for the 8th-annual VerdeXchange 2015 Conference in Downtown LA. The event’s theme: The Business of Climate Change Accelerates to Commercial Scale. The B2B, cross-pollinating VX2015 convened industry leaders from dozens of countries, companies, and across sectors to discuss business opportunities in the green economy. Robyn Beavers, Senior Vice President at NRG Energy, commented: “I come back every year to VerdeXchange because it’s
not your conventional green-tech conference. The change-makers and thought-leaders are a unique cross-section, so I always learn something and walk away having gained from it.” Jonathan Weisgall, Vice President for Legislative and Regulatory Affairs at Berkshire Hathaway Energy, added: “The VerdeXchange Conference each year is a heck of a place to network.” Speakers shared what is driving the growth of investment in sustainable approaches to water, energy, transportation, disruptive technologies, and the built environment on panels like: “Will Distributed Energy Resources Ultimately Replace the Regulated Utilities?” and “How Can Public Policy and Innovative Technologies Work Together for a Cleaner Energy Market?” Mary Nichols, Chair of the California Air Resources Board, noted, “Cleaning up the air and addressing global climate is good for the economy, and attending VerdeXchange conferences is a chance to actually meet the people who are proving that is true.” Delegations from Japan, China, Brazil, Canada, Finland, and numerous other nations attended, joining private and public-sector participants from California and across the US. “I would argue that what happens after VerdeXchange, with the contacts that you make, is as valuable—maybe even more valuable—than what occurs in the rooms,” said Bob Foster, Former Mayor, City of Long Beach.
“At no other conference that I have attended have I made more important contacts than at VerdeXchange.” —Dean Wiberg, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory
