Set in 1880, this is Dickens’ exquisitely unnerving tale of a tormented signalman who is haunted by visions of impending disaster on his isolated stretch of line. Can a well meaning traveller, who chances upon the lonely signal box while out walking, calm the man’s fears before he spirals into self destruction?

M.R. James was a master teller of the creepy ghost story. This is the story of Professor Parkins, a Cambridge academic on an out-of-season holiday at a bleak English east coast hotel in 1907. At an old graveyard near a deserted beach he finds an old bone whistle. On cleaning it, he discovers the inscription: Quis est iste qui venit (“Who is this who is coming?”). Blowing the whistle he awakens a disturbing supernatural force. A terrifying ordeal follows and though his scepticism tries to dismiss his unearthly encounters, his eyes and ears cannot.

Geoff Steen Tirluniau Gogledd Cymru Northshore Photography Tachwedd / November 2013 - Ionawr / January 2014

Mae ffotograffau Geoff Steen o’r tirlun yn dal eiliadau o ddrama a goleuni byrhoedlog. Mae’n ceisio cipio awyrgylch a thywydd dramatig, gan dynnu lluniau yn aml yn y glaw ac yng ngoleuni gwan y wawr. Ei nod yw cipio tirlun Gogledd Cymru yn ei gyflwr naturiol, byrhoedlog, gan osgoi defnyddio ffilterau a Photoshop wrth gyrchu purdeb a’r gwirionedd. Mae Geoff yn byw ac yn gweithio yn Llandudno, lle mae’n rhedeg oriel fechan dan yr enw North Shore. Agorodd yr oriel yn 2007, gan droi’r angerdd sydd wedi bod ganddo drwy ei oes tuag at ffotograffau o’r tirlun yn fywoliaeth.

northshoreonline.net

Geoff Steen’s landscape photography captures moments of drama and fleeting light. He seeks unusual atmospheres and dramatic weather, often shooting in the rain and in the soft light of dawn. His aim is to capture the landscape of North Wales in its natural, transient state, avoiding the use of filters and Photoshop in a quest for purity and truth. Geoff lives and works in Llandudno, where he runs a tiny gallery under the name North Shore. He opened the gallery in 2007, turning a lifelong passion for landscape photography into his livelihood.

Jan Gardner Lliw Colour Rhagfyr / December 2013 - Ionawr / January 2014

jangardner.com

Mae Jan Gardner yn artist proffesiynol sydd wedi’i lleol yng Nghonwy. Mae Jan wrth ei bodd â lliw! Mae’n creu delweddau bywiog ‘cyfrwng cymysg’ yn seiliedig ar ei hymatebion a’i harsylwadau a’i diddordeb mawr mewn lliw, ffurf, ansawdd a chreu marciau. Treuliodd Jan lawer o’i blynyddoedd cynnar yn crwydro’r lonydd a’r bryniau o amgylch ei chartref. Yma y daeth y goleuni, y gofod a’r lliwiau sy’n rhan o’i gwaith yn ddylanwad arni gyntaf. Gan dynnu ar yr atgofion a’r profiadau hyn o lefydd arbennig a’i theithiau diweddarach yn Ewrop, Moroco a’r U.D.A.; mae hi’n saernïo gweithiau byw ac atmosfferig.

Jan Gardner is a professional artist based in Conwy. Jan loves colour! She creates vibrant `mixed media` images based on her responses and observations and her fascination with colour, form, texture and mark-making. Jan spent much of her early years wandering the lanes and hills around her home. It was here that the light, space and colours that inhabit her work first became an influence. Drawing on these memories and experiences of special places and her later travels in Europe, Morocco and the U.S.A.; she crafts vivid and atmospheric works.

Dydd Llun / Monday, 31.03.14 // 19.30

At 15, Adele doesn’t question it: girls go out with boys. Her life is changed forever when she meets Emma, a young woman with blue hair, who will allow her to discover desire, to assert herself as a woman and as an adult. In front of others, Adele grows, seeks herself, loses herself, finds herself...

Inside Llewyn Davis follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is at a crossroads. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles-some of them of his own making..

The winner of the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux’s committed performances brilliantly convey the power of physical, emotional and sexual attraction, but also communicate the problems of sustaining a relationship when passion gives way to domestication. Contains scenes of graphic sex. Director: Abdellatif Kechiche Language: French with subtitles Starring: Adèkle Exarchopoulous, Léa Seydoux’s Running time: 179mins

£5 / £4 with a Rialto voucher (includes a free tea/coffee)

Directors: Joel & Ethan Coen Starring: Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman Running time: 105mins

£5 / £4 with a Rialto voucher (includes a free tea/coffee)

What an intense pleasure this film is, one of the Coens’ best. The Guardian

Cadw eich Swyddfa Docynnau’n Lleol Keeping your Box Office Local Pam mae gennych chi ffioedd gweinyddol?

Why do you have an Administration fee?

Gydag ychydig o’r arian yn dod i’r lleoliad, mae ffioedd sy’n gysylltiedig â gwerthiant tocynnau yn helpu i dalu am gostau’r busnes wedi datblygu yn safon yn y diwydiant, ac yn anghenraid ar gyfer lleoliadau celfyddydau ac adloniant fel Venue Cymru/ Theatr Colwyn. Mae’r ystod ffioedd sy’n cael eu codi gan ddarparwyr tocynnau yn cynnwys ffi archebu, ffi ymdrin, comisiwn cerdyn credyd, costau postio, ffi prosesu, ffi gwasanaeth, ayyb. Trwy gyflwyno ffioedd gweinyddol rydym yn gwneud yn siwr ˆ y gall ein cwsmeriaid archebu tocynnau yn y modd mwyaf cost effeithlon trwy gynnig un ffi fechan yn hytrach na ffioedd gwahanol ar gyfer gwahanol wasanaethau.

With little of the money coming to the venue, fees associated with ticket sales to help defer the cost of doing business have become an industry standard, and a necessity, for arts and entertainment venues like Venue Cymru/Theatr Colwyn. The typical range of various fees charged by ticket providers include a booking fee, handling charge, credit card commission, postage charge, processing fee, service fee, etc. By introducing an administration fee we ensure that our patrons can book tickets in the most efficient way possible by offering one nominal fee as opposed to separate fees for different services.

Sut mae’r ffi weinyddol o fantais i’r cwsmer?

How does the Administration fee benefit the customer?

Y brif fantais yw bod Venue Cymru/Theatr Colwyn yn parhau i werthu ein tocynnau ein hunain ac yn cadw’r defnydd o asiantau tocynnau mor isel â phosibl. Mae llawer o leoliadau wedi cael gwared ar eu Swyddfeydd Tocynnau mewnol yn gyfan gwbl ac wedi dechrau rhoi eu tocynnau i asiantau tocynnau annibynnol. Canlyniad hyn yw bod ffioedd gweinyddol llawer uwch yn cael eu codi a’u bod yn colli’r gwasanaeth personol a’r wybodaeth am y lleoliad y gall staff Swyddfeydd Tocynnau mewnol eu cynnig. Mae’r ffi weinyddol yn rhan hanfodol o’n busnes ac yn sicrhau ein bod yn parhau i gynnig y gwasanaeth cwsmer gorau, gan weithredu gwasanaeth Swyddfa Docynnau modern, effeithlon a dwyieithog.

The main benefit is that Venue Cymru/Theatr Colwyn continues to sell our own tickets and keep the use of ticket agents to a minimum. Many venues have completely removed their inhouse box offices and begun to outsource their ticketing to independent ticketing agents. The result of this means even higher fees are being charged to the customer and there is a loss of personal service and venue knowledge that in-house box offices are able to provide. The administration fee is a vital part of our business and ensures that we continue to offer the best customer service, operating a modern, efficient and bi-lingual box office service.
