Coin Shop When Disneyland first opened, Main Street U.S.A was home to an eclectic range of shops that helped create the feeling of a real turn-of-the-century small town. One such shop was the “Main Street Coin Shop”. The Coin Shop was owned by Henry Fenenbock, who also owned the Tobacco Shop, Pen Shop, and Adventureland Bazaar. The Coin Shop operated at its Main Street location from opening day in 1955 until 1960 when Disneyland began to regain control of its Main Street shops as existing leases ran out. The Coin Shop has produced some of the rarest and most interesting early park souvenirs, including coins and custom postcards, with very few examples still existing today.
