VALUATION. A high-octane career that requires strong financial skills and accounting expertise to help companies make smart business decisions. How do you determine the value of intellectual property? What is a brand name worth? How much should a company pay to purchase a competitor? These are just a few of the complex questions answered by valuation professionals. And today, demand for entry-level associates in this dynamic field is growing by double digits. As a valuation associate at a Big Four firm, you will be part of a team that provides specialized financial analyses and models that will impact your clients’ business decisions on important matters such as strategy and acquisitions, asset management, restructuring and divestitures, and management planning. Vanderbilt’s one-of-a-kind program prepares you for success in this exciting field that demands expertise in both finance and accounting. Your accounting course work empowers you to understand and speak the “language of business.” Courses such as Financial Economics, Corporate Valuation and Financial Reporting sharpen your financial and analytical skills. The combination of the two gives you a powerful edge in the eyes of potential employers.

In one year we equip students from diverse academic backgrounds with the education and skills they need to be successful professional service providers as they launch their careers in business. With rigorous course work, professional development, unparalleled recruiting opportunities with the Big Four accounting firms, and well-executed CPA and CFA exam review courses, we set students up for career success. Benefit from an all-inclusive experience. The Vanderbilt MAcc Valuation program offers so much more than academic course work. In just one year, you’ll get all that you need to earn a position with (and be successful in) a worldclass professional services organization. Professional development programming. Vanderbilt’s MAcc Valuation program includes professional development programming that will help you as you interact with firm representatives and prepare for a successful career. You will gain insights into your strengths, challenges and personal motivators and learn how they impact your working relationships with others. Along with your classmates, you will work with a professional executive coach who will help you turn these insights into strategies for a lifetime of personal and professional growth. Internship. You’ll have an unparalleled opportunity for a 10-week, paid internship with one of our

partner firms. This allows you to round out your education with real-world experience and gives you a chance to see what life is like as a valuation professional within a Big Four firm. At the same time, it allows the firm to evaluate you. It’s a fact: Successful internships lead to full-time job offers.

Exam preparation. Vanderbilt’s program gives you an edge when sitting for credentialing exams. During the fall, MAcc Valuation students complete a Schweser prep course and sit for the Level I CFA exam. In the summer after graduation, you will participate in the Becker Review course and sit for all four sections of the CPA exam. It’s no wonder that Vanderbilt MAcc students consistently achieve among the highest—if not the highest—exam pass rates in the country.
