DEVELOPER @ AMPLIFY
“My name is Aliya Meadows, and I grew up in Marietta, GA. My passion for teaching led me to pursue internships in Georgia’s elementary schools and preschools throughout high school. In undergrad at Vanderbilt, I majored in Elementary Education and Child Studies, graduating in 2020. After teaching 5th grade in Georgia for two years, I noticed I was frustrated by the lack of quality resources and curriculum for students of color. I began to create my own lessons and units to fill this gap for my students. This motivated me to return to Vanderbilt for a master’s in Learning and Design in 2022. In 2023, I moved to Milwaukee with my fiancé, taught 5th grade math and science, and then transitioned to a role as a curriculum developer with a national curriculum company. I currently work remotely writing a new math curriculum, which has been an exciting and fulfilling journey!”
