A SILKY FUSION The concept is framed by the subtle beauty of Hoi An traditional silk

For the silk to come into existence, nature and men are together at work. The earth nurtures the moths, the tree houses the cocoon, the rain pours and the fire flames to form the thread. Woven with those are the rough hands of the craftmen, the rustic weaving loom, and the intricate techniques

The design is based upon the story of painstaking diligence that turn raw materials into a refined piece of work

Sun Avenue is a massive complex that spans across Mai Chí Thọ street. It is comprised of eight towers that house retail in the podium, residence and office tel in the upper floors. The goal is to distinguish each building as an individual, and to unify the eight towers. The concept is the sun rising from the east to the west, and we use color schemes as the design strategy.

Invisible Children is a non-profit organization that fights to end Lord's Resistance Army, a group that abducts children and turns them into soldiers. The organization helped send US military to Uganda to track and capture Kony, LRA’s leader. Invisible Children is a group of young and dynamic people: film-makers, graphic designers, finance analysts, business officers, etc, coming together for one purpose.

RECEPTION

Employees and guests are welcomed at a dark reception with backlit silhouettes of children figures. When users get to the main hallway, an open, vibrant and airy space opens up. This communicates the story of Invisible Children: being the light against the darkness of LRA.

OPEN OFFICE

Intertwining frames and translucent materials create a united, dynamic, and vibrant space. Borders between everybody are invisible. Ugandan landscape is hidden in the design to link the US office back to its original land. Employees use the stadium seating for flexible workplace, training, gathering, generating conversation or taking lunch. In screening events, it is seating for employees and volunteers, appropriate for the casual culture of both user groups.
