THE WEDDING OF

LESLIE LEWIS & REYNALDO ELIZONDO MARCH 6, 2021

M

OUR WEDDING STORY

arch 7, 2020 Leslie and Rey were engaged in her favorite spot in the world, her grandparent’s garden. They set the date for a year later, March 6, 2021, where a wedding in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico would create the dreamy backdrop of their wedding day. The couple soon had to re-visualize their dream and bring it to fruition while navigating the constraints of an uneasy year caused by a global pandemic. Their destination wedding quickly shifted to the bride’s hometown of McAllen, TX where they planned a beautiful and unforgettable wedding reception and festive tornaboda at the freshly remodeled McAllen Country Club. The alluring bride and her bridesmaids were pampered with hair and make-up as they enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres and mimosas at her late grandparents’ home. The bride surprised her bridesmaids with matching pajama sets and custom-made gold and pearl flower earrings to pair with their bridesmaids dresses. The groom and his groomsmen enjoyed their snacks and liquor at the Casa De Palmas hotel, where Rey gifted the men custom matching suspenders that were handmade in San Miguel de Allende to pair with their tuxes. Looking dapper, Rey suited up in his custom tuxedo and made his way to the Garza home. There, the couple shared their first look in the very same spot the gleaming groom proposed. The bride was revealed to her groom detailed in her grandmother’s earrings that her mother also wore on her wedding day and her gorgeous wedding gown made to fit perfectly.

When friends and family arrived at the McAllen Country Club, they approached a gorgeous arrangement of flowers that led the way to a dreamy candle lit walkway where they were greeted by doormen dressed in tuxedos and guitarist Mario Aleman playing acoustic Spanish music as they made their way into the black-tie event. Upon entering the cocktail hour preceding the reception, guests were presented with a beautiful green wall adorned with filled champagne glasses with custom cards carefully placed in them which included the guests name and seating assignment. Signature drinks and hors d’oevres were also served for the wedding guests to enjoy before the reception began; Leslie’s festive spicy grapefruit margarita, Rey’s dressed Dos Equis with tajin, salt and lime in the couple’s custom wedding crest koozies, mini beef taquitos, cheese flauta enchilada shooters, and shrimp cocktail shooters continued to carry their San Miguel theme into the reception. The wedding guests then made their way into the reception room which was elegantly filled with perfectly placed flowers of subtle pops of color, again reminding them of their favorite destination spot of San Miguel de Allende. The beaming couple was presented to them as Mr. and Mrs. Reynaldo Elizondo for the first time and they then shared their first dance and sat to enjoy dinner with their wedding guests. Guests were served a refreshing cucumber wrapped salad followed by a delicious chicken picata, jumbo shrimp, wild rice and asparagus. For dessert, guests enjoyed the couple’s gorgeous wedding cake decorated in a flowing cascade of colorful flowers and tasting of almond cream cake paired with a strawberry cream cheese filling. Adding to the desserts was a churro bar found in the front lawn where draped lights and additional cocktail tables and seating were offered. To close dinner the groom shared a first dance with his mother, then the bride and her father shared the stage dancing to a remix of their favorite songs which then opened the dance floor. Party goers enthusiastically flooded the dance floor to enjoy the vivacious music the 8-member live band. The dance-floor was consistently full and as guests took breaks, they captured the memories at the photo booth which was adorned with a fresh green wall and a custom neon sign of the couple’s last name, The Elizondos. Party favors were passed out to the guests; confetti poppers and lighted foam sticks added to the festive dance floor. Shortly after midnight and an encore from the band, the couple exited the ballroom and led their guests to the Country Club’s outdoor patio overlooking the lake and golf course to a Tornaboda after party hosted by the Tias and Tios of the bride, a family tradition. The bride snuck away, slipped into her white sequin party dress and sneakers to enjoy a breakfast taco bar, menudo and continued bar service with family and friends. Cheers to the happy couple!

OUR WEDDING STORY

hant and I are so incredibly lucky to have met. We both moved to McAllen in 2016, but didn’t cross paths until the world was ready for us to meet. Both of us come from Indians families - a small community, running in similar circles, living only 2 miles apart … took us 3 years to meet! After 6 months of dating, we decided “why wait?” We got our families together and celebrated a traditional engagement ceremony. With our hearts set on an April 2020 wedding, we traveled to India in February of 2020 to shop and prepare for the big day. When it came to planning our wedding we knew we wanted to stay local with our vendors. Our first stop was hiring a wedding planner (shoutout to Pandora Weddings) . After deciding on venues, décor, photography, and all other vendors - 3 weeks before the big day the pandemic hit and derailed our celebrations for another 13 months! The wedding team we put together was rescheduled multiple times over the span of the year. Each time, our vendors stood by us and accommodated us in every way possible. These pages are a tribute to their hard work and resiliency. We thank you all so much for helping make this happen

THE WEDDING OF

DIVANNA SALAZAR & LAZARO GUERRERO FEBRUARY 05, 2021

OUR WEDDING STORY

Divanna and Lazaro had their first encounter in August of 2017. Ever since then, they have become soulmates. Lazaro popped the question on a dream vacation in Paris, France. After months of enthusiastic planning, the beautiful couple had an extravagant royal celebration in Mission, Texas. Divanna was a glowing bride in her sparkling mermaid silhouette wedding gown. Jewels were encrusted all throughout the gown, the detail was absolutely amazing. She paired her gown with a long veil, classic hollywood glam side swept curls, and a stunning headpiece. Lazaro looked so handsome in his black tuxedo paired with Louboutin dress shoes. The couple met prior to their race to the altar for a “First Glance.” Lazaro was blown away by how breathtaking Divanna looked in her dress. She was equally as stunned to see her handsome future husband standing in front of her. Guests awaited Divanna and Lazaro at Sacred Heart Church as they enjoyed lovely music by the talented violinists. Dreamy floral pieces decorated the church as the wedding party walked down the aisle prior to Divanna’s arrival. As Lazaro waited for Divanna at the altar as she was escorted down the aisle by her older brother. It was just breathtaking to see Divanna with her gorgeous white bouquet. After they were pronounced husband and wife, everyone gathered for photos, and shared joyous tears before it was time to head to the reception hall. The bride and groom made sure to make every single guest in attendance feel welcomed and cherished. The venue was decorated in white linens and elegant white drapes. It looked like a heavenly dream with crystals all throughout the event hall. The guests enjoyed a delicious and elegant dinner right before Mr. & Mrs. Guerrero headed to the dance floor for their first dance. They gracefully swept across the floor as they danced to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, with sparklers as they floated on the clouds. The extraordinary celebration continued with every genre of music and a lot of dancing. Divanna then changed from her gorgeous mermaid gown to a stunning one-shoulder jumpsuit with a cape skirt that was encrusted in jewels along the waist and throughout the shoulder. All too soon, the night of unforgettable moments came to an end and guest took home custom thank you boxes with plenty of goodies. From beginning to end, Divanna and Lazaro made sure their guests enjoyed this memorable night with them. It was a perfect wedding, for two people who are perfect for each other. Mr. and Mrs. Guerrero’s wedding was a black-tie affair to remember!

MY FAVORITE MEMORY

“The most special moment of our wedding day was when my husband and I held each other as we danced our first dance under the stars in a most romantic setting, surrounded by people we love. To my surprise, my sweet, handsome husband began to recite in my ear, the words he had written in a letter he had meant to give to me before the wedding. He had memorized them all and surprised me with the most loving words that would forever stay engrained in my heart and mind. It was such a magical moment.” MEGAN, BRIDE

YVETTE ANGELES

C

hampagne Soirees was founded amidst the chaos of the 2020 global pandemic. Yvette Angeles started with an idea for encouraging self-care and creating an inviting ambience for the personal home space. Champagne Soirees originally began as a floral business where Yvette created botanical arrangements suited for a comforting atmosphere at home. It was this passion for creating an atmosphere that led Yvette to follow a dream. Persevering and following what she loves to do, Yvette took her decade’s experience in merchandising and brand departments and transformed it into a business where she could provide that type of personal and detailed engagement into her client’s events. In a short period of time, Champagne Soirees has transformed into Yvette’s dream of creating a new business vision for herself. A business in which she can focus on building client relationships where her clients can think fondly of the memories she helps to create and execute with her rentals. Yvette’s ideal client is someone who enjoys life, music, and friendship. The ideal client enjoys the beauty in food, wine, flowers, culture, and fashion. These character traits are what sets Champagne Soirees apart from other rental and design companies. Having a champagne cart set up at your event sets the mood. While events may have scaled down, and will surely be on the rise again someday, Champagne Soirees can relate and share your excitement for your special event no matter its size. Yvette believes in the privilege of sharing those special moments with the people you love. With Champagne Soirees at your event, you can relish with your loved ones in an atmosphere created specifically with you in mind.

Top Ceremony Tips WEDDING PLANNING

T

he ceremony IS your wedding. For some couples, a family priest or church is the basis of the planning process. For others, the ceremony may be built around a beloved location, a favorite piece of music, or your own love story. Find someone to officiate whom you both love and admire, whether it’s your church pastor or a dear family friend. What’s most important is that you share a mutual respect for the person who leads you through your vows. If he or she can get to know you as a couple (through meetings or premarital counseling), that familiarity will foster a more personalized ceremony.

INDIE IMAGE PHOTOGRAPHY

Let both your families (and faiths) have a part. From the beginning, listen to both sides’ expectations for your wedding day. It’s the bridal couple’s special day, but discussing choices with both families will encourage everyone to feel included. Have a printed program. Although it’s not required, a handout program is the ideal place to list your wedding party and close family members. You can also thank them and your guests in the program. Having an outdoor wedding? Guests can use programs as fans. Schedule a rehearsal. Your officiant will probably suggest this, but do so yourself just in case. All wedding party members will feel more comfortable during the ceremony if they have had some practice. The officiant should be well-versed in showing everyone where to stand, when to walk, and when to sit.

ALECSPHOTO

Honor VIPs. The wedding ceremony offers a lovely time to give special honor or recognition to family members or beloved guests. Both mothers might be invited to light a unity candle; close friends might be asked to give short readings; a favorite relative might be appointed to witness or be given honored seating. Determine seating beforehand. In Christian ceremonies, the bride’s side is the left and the groom’s is the right, but the opposite is true for Jewish ceremonies. It’s your day, though, so you can either follow this tradition or simply have family fill in from the front with all others seated behind them as they arrive.

Quinta Mazatlan presented the perfect backdrop to showcase the picturesque floral that embodies the elegancy and romance of the Regency era. The bloomy arrangements gently positioned on the table create a sophisticated ambiance. The touches of white, pink, green and gold transmit the mystique and charm of the period.

The bride wears an exquisite laced dress with delicate tulle and perfectly placed pearls that is currently making a statement in the fashion world. The pop of berry lips with natural complexion is kept fresh for a radiant look.

In keeping with the “Bridgerton“ theme, the artistic cake will sure steal the show. The intricate buttercream details captivates everything the Regency period is remembered for. The cake was accompanied by a royal charcuterie spread that was placed on an elegant china dish.

The stationery suite adorned with artful calligraphy, was printed on gorgeous cotton paper. The gold accents on jewelry and accessories brings the whole concept to an elegant level.

“My fondest memory from our wedding is receiving the most beautiful gift box from Nicholas. It included a wonderful note written by him, a charm bracelet with the key to his heart, a bouquet charm and a hair pin with our picture in it, a gorgeous name plate with my new name Vanessa Skelton and a bracelet from his mom that matched to the one she had. Such detail went in it that it melted my heart, filled my eyes with happy tears, and made my nerves melt away. ” VANESSA, BRIDE

Sand And Surf for A Beach Wedding BEACH VENUES

C

lear blue skies, light sea breeze in the air, warm sand under your feet as you walk down the aisle to the love of your life…

Yes, it is your wedding day on a gorgeous beach overlooking ocean waters! With the summer months just around the corner, brides in the Rio Grande Valley are finalizing the last details for their upcoming nuptials. Some couples will be having their celebration on the lovely shores of South Padre Island, Texas, a tropical destination close to home! The Texas Gulf Coast has been a very popular choice for summer brides and grooms who can’t get enough of the sand and surf. South Padre Island has prided itself on being the summer hot spot for vacation, weekend getaways, and special events. The stunning views of early sunrises and playful waves have been the inspiration for many

great venues and restaurants to open their doors so that you can enjoy all that is South Padre Island. Wedding and event venues on SPI have fabulous packages that give you great options such as a ceremony on the beach, a memorable photo session at various landmarks that dot the island, and, of course, fresh seafood for your reception meal. Nevertheless, the biggest reason South Padre Island is the choice for beach weddings is that it is right in our own backyard. And you don’t have to worry about traveling immediately after the reception is over because you can relax in one of the many excellent hotels and simply bask in the sunlight and dip your toes in the water, even while you’re still in your wedding dress! No need to bring out the passports or the travel guide- South Padre Island is the perfect setting for you to be wed amongst the ocean waters and charming seashells; shoes are optional.

Where The Cake Takes the Slice CAKE DESIGN

Many different factors affect the price of your cake.

SIZE

Cake and confection prices are generally broken down into per serving costs, with a greater number of servings leading to an increase in the price.

SHAPE

Cakes come in a variety of shapes that may impact the cost: hearts, scalloped ovals, squares, hexagons, diamonds, and more!

FLAVORS

More traditional flavors like chocolate, white, yellow, and vanilla, cost less than the specialty liquor flavors such as rum, red or blue velvet, or almond cream.

FILLINGS

Most fillings are included in the price of the cake, however specialty fillings such as cream cheese or ganache may cost extra, and the price of fresh fruit fillings may fluctuate seasonally.

ICING

Some bakers may charge more for some frostings than others based on their specialty. Choices usually include buttercream, chocolate buttercream, cream cheese, whipped frosting, fondant, flavored fondant, and rolled chocolate.

SPECIALTY DECORATING

Bows, draping, blown sugar, pulled sugar, gumpaste flowers, and paintings are a beautiful way to add personalized designs to your cake and are typically priced per design.

TOPPERS

Flowers, cake jewelry, figurines and fondant creations can coordinate with your theme and offer the ultimate in personalization.

DELIVERY & SETUP

This is usually included if within a certain distance. Arranging flowers on the cake may or may not be a part of setup.

RENTALS

Additional rentals such as cake stands, trays , or specialty linens affect the price and typically require a security deposit. Size Shape Flavor Fillings Icing Specialty Decorating Toppers Delivery & Setup Rentals Anniversary Tier

9 2   VALLEYWEDDINGPAGES.COM

ANNIVERSARY TIER

This may be included in the price. Sometimes bakers offer a fresh tier on your anniversary instead. Choosing the best wedding cake depends on your own likes and dislikes, the wedding theme, and your budget. Once you’ve got some idea of the type of cake you’d like, you’ll need to work out how much money you have to spend on the cake. Be realistic and compare the prices of various cake vendors. Don’t rush this step – take time to compare and contrast the different styles and specialties provided by each baker. Be sure to give yourself plenty of planning time to get the dream cake you always wanted.

Ready, Set, Prep BEAUTY & STYLE

Y

ou found the perfect makeup artist, you chose your bridal look, and you found the perfect lipstick shade for your special day. There’s one more big question left…Is your skin prepped and healthy for your wedding? Here are several important tips to remember when using your daily skincare routine to have your face glowing and picture perfect. O CLEANSE Cleansing your face of dirt, sweat, and impurities will keep your pores clear and fresh. Exfoliating once a week will also get rid of any dead skin that builds up. O TONE If you’re worried about wrinkles or dull looking skin, a simple evening or overnight cream can revitalize and tighten your skin. O TARGET If you are acne prone, suffer from redness, or any other ailments, talk with a dermatologist to find the right treatment to clear up these problem areas. O MOISTURIZE Keeping your skin hydrated will always give you a healthy glow. Along with a light moisturizer, drinking plenty of water will keep your hydration levels balanced and flush out any toxins. O HIT THE SPA Find a spa in your area that offers a day package (some even offer special bridal packages), sign up for treatments that you love or have never tried before, and enjoy a day of total relaxing indulgence.

Remember to always speak with a dermatologist before taking on any big skin treatments. These small but vital steps into your skincare routine will have you looking like a breath of fresh air for your special day, making you look like a timeless masterpiece.

Let’s Suit Up MEN’S WEAR

S

hopping for the perfect wedding gown is traditionally seen as a pivotal stage in wedding planning. The groom, an equal participant in the wedding, and his choice of attire is just as important as the bride’s. The American tuxedo combined the materials and finishes of the formal dress coat, which typically included long coat tails, and the shorter length of the informal lounge jacket worn during daytime. This combination gained prominence among the elite social class of men in the Tuxedo Park area of the Hudson Valley in New York during the late 1880s. In general, the tuxedo is a short black jacket without tails and was originally seen as informal. Over time, it has become the most formal attire in menswear. This makes the tuxedo a perfect choice for grooms who are planning a beautiful and formal wedding. And while we have left the Victorian era long ago, a resurgence of grand-millennial style is a perfect excuse to add a touch of glam and formality to your event. Having the groom wear a tux of his choice is the perfect way to set the dress code tone. A men’s suit differs from a tuxedo in its formality. The tuxedo really provides a feel of glam with traditional satin lapels, covered buttons, and satin piping on the trousers. When picking your tuxedo, you’ll be able to choose between tuxedo jacket styles such as: O NOTCH LAPELS O SHAWL COLLARS O PEAK LAPELS

Though it is called black-tie, modern tuxedos provide men with options for individuality. There are white tuxedos, blue tuxedos, and unique fabrics colors as well as patterns. Finally, you are able to top the look off with the perfect bowtie.

Finding the Perfect Canvas PHOTOGRAPHY

A

professional photographer documenting your milestones will leave you with professional images that you can turn into heirloom photographs for future generations. Many photographers no longer rely on the studio of years past. You will find photographers who can easily adapt to photographing on-location. When selecting your location for a photoshoot, you should consider the following. First, consider seeing the location in person prior to booking it. Locations often look a certain way in marketing images and event photos, but those photos are usually curated. A location may serve as a perfect backdrop for an event, with well thought out decorations. While it may make a great location to host a wedding, it may not look the same in its bare form – stripped away from the fancy linens and gorgeous flowers. Secondly, your photographer will possess a wealth of information on what locations they recommend. You should run by some of your ideas and together decide on what location would be best to reach your desired results. You’ll need to consider that many places require an appointment time and a fee for photo use. Plan ahead early and consider this when working out your photography budget. Thirdly, consider embracing the native flora and fauna of the Rio Grande Valley. Rich with culture, if you look closely, the Rio Grande Valley offers a unique backdrop you may not often see in mainstream wedding marketing. You’ll come across many beautiful Pinterest boards and find great inspiration. But that should serve as no more than inspiration. Avoid asking your photographer to recreate a certain image simply by copying it. Instead, focus on what makes this area beautiful to you and embrace it. Finally, not every on-location photoshoot needs to be outdoors. There are plenty of indoor options you could consider. Museums, coffee shops, and indoor markets can make great locations for photos. Finding and choosing an indoor location for photos is a great way to be creative. Many buildings, current and historical, offer great architectural details, indoor and outdoor, that provide a great backdrop for your photos.

Dancing with Daddy’s Little Girl MUSIC

T

here are many memorable moments throughout a wedding day that are heartwarming, but none are as touching as when a father shares a dance with his daughter as a newly married woman. No longer standing on her father’s shoes, a bride will often share a special dance with the first man in her life to show that even though she is grown and now happily married, she will always be his little girl. A song that can evoke the strong relationship between a father and daughter can truly make the moment on the dance floor special. To help you find the right song, here are the top 5 popular Father Daughter songs that may be the perfect choice.

The Art Behind The Beat REYNALDO SALAZAR

DJ ART DJ MOBILE SERVICE

I

ARTURO CANTU JR

n 1991, DJ Art became a reality during my Senior year in college at the University of Texas of Pan American. My style as a DJ is simple, you adapt to your audience by knowing who your audience is and what they like. Not everyone enjoys the same type of music and as a DJ, you need to know the different genres of music and be able to adapt quickly to ensure that everyone’s taste is complimented and that everyone has a great time. When looking for a DJ, I am unique. I take the time to listen and meet with my clients before the big event to understand their needs and wants. Together we plan the event and design a program that is tailored to their style. Building rapport and establishing a working relationship with my clients is important to me. Anybody can just play music, but not everybody takes the time to listen and customize a program that compliments the needs and wants of the client. As a plus, I speak both English and Spanish and pride myself in always being professionally dressed in a tuxedo. My services include emcee services, intelligent light show, sound system, vast variety of music tailored to your event, marquee lights and a projector monogram. As an added bonus to my clients and future clients, I have been endorsed by the Better Business Bureau with an A+ rating. So, when looking for a professional DJ, you can rest assured that I will work hard to exceed your expectations and that at the end of the event, you will walk away with a big smile knowing that you had the time of your life. I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of your special event.

MY FAVORITE MEMORY

“My wedding day was something I had always dreamed about. My parents walked me down the aisle just after the very emotional “first look” with my dad. All I saw was my husband looking back at me, we both cried. We danced (not very well) the night away with our closest friends and family and it was all beautifully captured by our amazing photographer and videographer. For you and your spouse-to-be, there’s nothing more luxurious than being driven around in a stretch limousine or a vintage car you’ve dreamed about. There are many rental services that have a line of limousines in various sizes and vintage cars from several decades that can not only fit the newlyweds but even up to several members of the bridal party. Don’t forget about your guests! If you have several relatives from out of town who are staying at hotels for the wedding, ask the hotel if they provide shuttle services to and from your

ceremony and reception locations; you may need a separate transportation service for this need. Shuttles or party buses can carry more passengers, shortening the wait time between pickups and drop offs. This will give your guests one less worry and more time to enjoy the festivities. Now consider if your reception venue has the proper parking space and layout. If your venue recommends providing a parking valet, make sure you inquire about any parking permits needed or included in the contract, how many valets are needed per guest or car, and any other fees required. Remember, giving your guests options when it comes to transportation will show your appreciation for their presence on your special day, and give them peace of mind to enjoy the night without worry.

THE WEDDING OF

ALMA VEGA & ROLANDO PENA JR. DECEMBER 12, 2020

MY FAVORITE MEMORY

“December 12, 2020 was the most exciting day of my entire life. At the ceremony, my father was the first person I saw. He smiled at me and said how beautiful I looked with glistening eyes, and I smiled back at him, reminding him I’d always be his little girl. When I got to the end of the aisle, Rolando had a massive smile, as he always does. Our ceremony felt like it lasted only a minute, yet I remember every detail. 2020 had been a long, challenging year due to the pandemic, and the amount of support we felt that night felt like a tremendous blessing.” ALMA, BRIDE

THE WEDDING OF

ERICA TORRES & MATT DAVIS OCTOBER 24, 2020

MY FAVORITE MEMORY

“Matt and I had decided that the most intense moment of the day, the moment when we first see each other, should be private. He was the only one that could see me smiling earto-ear at the man who would soon be my husband, and I was the only one who could see the tears of joy he was shedding as the rest of his life was reflected in his eyes. When we saw each other, when we first locked eyes, every moment of hard work over the past ten months was instantly vindicated. ERICA, BRIDE

ur story starts in August of 2014 where Josh and I met at Hillbilly’s Dance Hall. As soon as I walked in, it was as if he was there to greet me. He asked me to dance, and of course I said yes. We danced all nigh which led to our love for concerts, from small hometown artists to large ones such as Garth Brooks. After a few years of dating, we joined a pool league together. We played every Monday and Wednesday which brought us closer as a couple. During the first year of pool league, we made it to the finals in Las Vegas. Our first night after playing, we made our way to the top of the stratosphere. My family and some of our teammates were there with the best view, the bright lights of Las Vegas strip. Not knowing my life would be changing forever in the next few minutes, my parents had asked Josh and I to take a picture with the beautiful lights. Josh then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I screamed “YES!” I cannot wait to marry my best friend on September 10, 2021.

hey met at the tender age of 13, spring break 2007. It was a fun filled night at the Mercedes Livestock Show when they first crossed paths. Although they were total strangers, Leeza felt an instant connection and decided to introduce herself to Martin. A simple friendly introduction blossomed into a lifelong relationship. They were celebrating their 10-year anniversary in Houston where Martin planned to propose. The day was spent doing things they loved most; museums, zoo, and dinning. As the night came to an end, they arrived back at the hotel, and before Leeza could enter, Martin gestured to take a stroll in the park across from the hotel. The park was quiet and intimate; a perfect romantic setting. During their walk, they reminisced on past memories and shared their appreciation and love for each other. At that moment, before they headed back for the night, Martin grabbed Leeza by the hand, got down on one knee and asked, “Will you be my wife?” Shocked and in tears of joy, Leeza breathlessly said “Yes!”

I

feel like the luckiest girl in the world to get to share my passion and favorite pastime with my soul mate every day. Marcos and I began as friends working at a Houston tackle store three years ago. We grew up much in the same way, both of our dad’s were fishing guides who have cultivated that passion for us both. What started as swapping fishing stories at lunch has grown into the fun-filled life we have now built together. We laugh, travel, and spend as much time on the water as possible. Marcos has a way of making every situation an adventure and it keeps our lives exciting. Last October he proposed in the most perfect way. While my favorite artist came to town, Marcos proposed and it was the easiest “Yes!” possible. We are counting down to our wedding in Port Mansfield, TX and can not wait for our biggest adventure yet!

EN G AGEMENTS ALEXANDRIA POSADA & EUGENIO URIBE October 23, 2021

T

he best love story is when you fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time! Eugenio and Alexandria met when a mutual friend introduced them. Their friend knew they were different but felt their love of food, commitment to family, and focus on their careers made them a great match. They found out why opposites attract--because everything one is not, the other is (she doesn’t cook, and he doesn’t clean), and the pieces fit together perfectly. Unbeknownst to Alexandria, Eugenio teamed up with her mom (the two are nearly inseparable) to design the perfect engagement ring. He and his future mother-inlaw kept it a secret from Alexandria until the ring was ready. One Sunday morning last August, her now-fiancé decided the timing was perfect to ask Alexandria to marry him. While she was making them coffee in their home, he lovingly wrapped his arms around her and held a beautiful ring in front of her. Eugenio proposed, Alexandria said yes (a moment they will never forget), and they look forward to sharing a lifetime of love, food, travel and adventure together. Eugenio and Alexandria enjoy lazy Sundays with their yorkie, Xena, and their green-eyed potbelly pig, Piggy Azalea. They love late night Sunday dinners cooked at home (after all, he is a professional chef) and enjoy a glass of wine while catching up on their favorite Netflix show. They are excited to start this new chapter of their lives and can’t wait to celebrate with all of their favorite people.
