he character of Val de Vie Estate constitutes not only the existing environmental attributes but also the architectural style as well as the specific introduced landscape architecture. The landscape vernacular will fulfill a crucial role in the harmonious integration of the “existing” and the “new,” typical of Val de Vie Estate. For this purpose, the use of plant species on private property will be controlled and we would like to specify which plant species are specifically prohibited on the Estate: • Invader species promulgated by law • Acacia trees - all species • Cussonia (cabbage) trees – all species • Aloe bainesii (tree aloe) and Aloe dichotoma (quiver tree) – smaller Aloe species are allowed • Palms – all species • • • •

Ferns – all species Bamboo species – all species Cycad / Cycas - all species Specific trees: Strelitzia Nicolai (wild banana), Schizolobium (feather duster), Scefflera exotic species • Cacti, Agave and similar species (a selection of popular smaller succulent species are allowed) • All typical tropical plant species (philodendron; monster; flax and similar) Codyline; Yucca; Draceana and similar species Val de Vie HOA
