Head Coach Ninnemann is in her seventh season as head coach of the UW-Stevens Point women’s hockey team in 2012-13. In her tenure the Pointers have experienced several successful seasons including a national third place finish in 2006-07. National success is nothing new for Ninnemann, who experienced plenty as both a player and assistant coach. In fact, she is one of the only people ever to both play and coach in a Division III Frozen Four. She also was an assistant coach in the Frozen Four and became just the third female head coach ever to lead a team to the national semifinals. Ninnemann was UW-Stevens Point’s first All-American player in 2001-02 and captained the Pointers for three straight seasons from 2002-05. She totaled 55 goals and a school-record 69 assists for 124 points, ranking second in school history for goals and points. Ninnemann was named to the all-tournament team in 2004 when she led the Pointers to a national runner-up finish. She also assisted former UW-Stevens Point head coach and current North Dakota head coach Brian Idalski for one season with the Pointers in 2005-06, resulting in a third place national finish. In addition to Ninnemann’s hockey success, she also conveyed her winning ways as an assistant coach with the UW-Stevens Point softball team. In her first season on the diamond, Ninnemann helped the Pointers to one of their best seasons in school history with a 33-10 overall record and NCAA Division III tournament appearance. In 2006, Ninnemann assisted with the Stevens Point Area Senior High softball team that finished 23-1 and qualified for the WIAA state tournament. Under Ninnemann’s direction the Pointers have posted a 97-50-18 overall record (.642) and a 61-34-14 mark in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. Ninnemann, a Rosemount, Minn. native, has worked numerous camps, including USA Hockey camps in Rochester, N.Y. and UW-Stevens Point hockey schools.

Assistant Coaches Craig Dakins Sr.

- Assistant Coach

A longtime fixture around UW-Stevens Point hockey and area youth hockey circles, Craig Dakins is in his 11th season on the staff of the Pointer women’s team. He joined the UWStevens Point women’s hockey team in 2001-02 and spent five years under Brian Idalski and is in his sixth season working with Ann Ninnemann. Most of his hockey background comes from the Wisconsin Rapids area where he has spent 12 years working with the city’s youth and midget programs. He also has helped several years with the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School boys’ team. Dakins has worked Lincoln High School camps and assists at a power skating camp every fall. He has experience coaching numerous summer AAA teams. Dakins is employed full-time at Stora Enso in Wisconsin Rapids. He and his wife Margo have two children, a son, Craig, and daughter, Breinn.
