Letter from the president Dear Friends, In my first year as President and CEO of your United Way I am in awe of the commitment this community makes to improve lives through United Way. I’ve observed generosity and compassion like I’ve never seen before and now I know why they say that the Roanoke Valley is a community that truly cares.

On behalf of United Way and the community we serve I’d like to thank you for your generous demonstration of just how much you care for the Roanoke Valley. Your support will help those in our community who need it the most.

I have seen first-hand how gifts to the United Way Impact Fund are used to impact the lives of children, families and individuals right here in the Roanoke Valley. Virginia Infant Toddler Specialist Network United Way has expanded our early childhood focus on infant and toddler care by increasing capacity to include the Piedmont Region’s Infant Toddler Specialist. This local specialist works with infant and toddler care providers in Roanoke region, providing training and one-on-one coaching to improve care during critical early years.
