INNOVATIVE COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS

2019 OPPORTUNITIES UNDERWRITING & SPONSORSHIP

SUMMER MEALS PROGRAM One in six children struggles with hunger and many children who rely on school meals, do not get enough to eat during the summer. We are helping to provide kids with nutritious food at various sites during the summer months (typically from late June to the end of August). Last year, Summer Meals partners served more than150,000 meals! Each year, we work to secure $5,000 in funding to supplement the program with food, reading materials and promote and advance the work of the Summer Meals program. Inclusion in all media outreach efforts are included as a benefit to the event sponsor. For more details contact Allisonl@uwpc.org

CONNECTING TO OUR COMMUNITY

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. —Coretta Scott King

NEIGHBORHOOD GRANTS Our Neighborhood Grants Program provides financial and technical support to resident or community-led groups for projects that help children and families in their neighborhood. Each year we draw from dozens of community groups that submit projects that will achieve positive changes for their community in the that focus on creating neighborhood opportunities to build a stable home environment and meeting basic needs of families by creating projects that invest in food, housing and other essential needs. By underwriting grants of $1,000 each for four worthy groups, companies receive recognition as the underwriter for these grants. The grants are announced at our Celebrate Community event. Inclusion in all media outreach efforts are included as a benefit to the underwriter. To learn more contact pennib@uwpc.org.
