HOW TO GET HERE Depending on where you’re coming from, we suggest you start your tour along Lake Michigan for the easiest and most picturesque drive.
BY CAR From the South & West From I-43 northbound or I-94 near downtown, take I-794 east to the Lakefront exit. Go north along the lake on Lincoln Memorial Drive to the top of the hill, where Lincoln Memorial Drive becomes E. Kenwood Boulevard and intersects with N. Lake Drive. Go straight (west) on Kenwood Boulevard five blocks to campus. Turn right on Downer Avenue. The UWM Visitor Center is in Vogel Hall, 3253 N. Downer Ave. From the North Take I-43 southbound to the Capitol Drive east exit. Go east on Capitol to N. Downer Avenue, then south on Downer Avenue. The UWM Visitor Center is in Vogel Hall, 3253 N. Downer Ave. From the East Go south on N. Lake Drive. Turn right (west) on Kenwood Boulevard five blocks to campus. Turn right on Downer Avenue. The UWM Visitor Center is in Vogel Hall, 3253 N. BY TRAIN/BUS If you’re coming from out of town, Amtrak and Greyhound Bus Service connect at the Milwaukee Intermodal Station downtown. From there, you can take a cab or catch a Milwaukee County Transit System bus to campus. Six local bus routes and three express bus routes serve campus. amtrak. com, greyhound.com, ridemcts.com
BY AIR UWM is about a 20-minute drive from General Mitchell International Airport (MKE). From there, it’s easy to take a taxi or shuttle service to campus or your hotel. mitchellairport.com
PARKING Please allow plenty of time for parking. If space is available, you can park in the Student Union garage on Kenwood Boulevard or the Pavilion garage on Downer Avenue. Otherwise, metered parking is available on the streets surrounding campus. Find information on parking rates and other options at parking.uwm.edu, under the “campus visitors” tab.
