n. Four service units in the Department of Environmental and Occupational
Health Sciences work together to help meet the occupational health and safety needs of Washington state. The units focus on: 1) workplace monitoring and evaluation; 2) laboratory testing; 3) clinical care; and 4) professional development and continuing education. These units help: 1) reduce work-related injuries, illnesses, and deaths; 2) lower employer costs for workplace injuries and illnesses; and 3) maintain a productive and competitive workforce.
