Pearson College of the Pacific (Class of 2008) University affiliation: Dartmouth College (Class of 2012) Best memory from UWC: Choreographing a soca dance number for forty people with a Bahamian friend. Our performance was the final act of ‘One World’ 2008. ‘One World’ is a huge culture show put on by Pearson College with nearly every student participating. Why you should apply to UWC: UWC changed my life. It opened my eyes to a world of perspectives and opportunities. It provided an enabling environment for me to discover what it means to be a global citizen. I would love for someone else to experience the magic that is Pearson College and UWC. Future ambition: After Dartmouth, I intend to pursue a PhD in Gender Studies.

TAMAISHA EYTLE Alma mater: Campion College UWC attended: MUWCI (Class of 2007) University affiliation: York University (Class of 2011) Best memory from UWC: UWC is full of so many memories and life experiences that are so hard to articulate, but in a nutshell my best memory was when we had a project week which allowed us to travel freely. This eventful trip included :Riding on a train through India having to hide from the conductor and then ending the evening sleeping under the stars after a Camel Safari. Why you should apply to UWC:This experience not only allows your to grow as a person, but expands your mind and ways of thinking way beyond what a regular school curriculum can give you. UWC is not about the school work but about the wholistic experience you gain and the lifelong friendships you make. Future ambition: I want to focus on International Education and the internationalisation of the Caribbean curriculum by encouraging students through study abroad and international internship opportunities.

AKILAH SYKES Alma mater: Immaculate Conception High School UWC attended: United World College of the Atlantic (Class of 2010) University affiliation: Macalester College (Class of 2014) Best memory from UWC: Cooking the dayroom (living room) kitchen with friends, laughing over the food, finishing it before it’s actually done cooking. Why you should apply to UWC: I think it is a great experience for any young person to have. It exposes you to different cultures and ways of thinking and challenges assumptions that you have held all your life without question. I also think it makes for great stories to tell your grandchildren (God’s willing) Future ambition: To come back to Jamaica to study medicine and go into research

JODI-ANN DATTADEEN Alma mater: St. Mary High UWC attended: Red Cross Nordic United World College (Class of 2008) University affiliation: Brown University (Class of 2012) Best memory from UWC: My arrival at UWC: getting off that bus (after aten hour bus ride!) into the welcoming arms of my second years. Why you should apply to UWC: UWC is an amazing, life changing experience. It is a great opportunity to meet and interact with other young, brilliant minds from all over the world. In addition, UWC opens up doors for a world class education as most UWC scholars go on to top tier universities around the world. Future ambition: Clinical Psychologist
