Live United and Support the Local Community with Harris Teeter and United Way Purchase a Harry the Happy Dragon Donation Card from any of the 203 Harris Teeter stores August 15 – September 16 to benefit the United Way in your area Charlotte, NC – More than 25 years ago, Harris Teeter and United Way established a partnership to increase public awareness and raise money on behalf of United Way member agencies coordinating relief services for those most in need. In its upcoming campaign for United Way, Harris Teeter is once again giving its generous shoppers the opportunity to give back to their community during its Harry the Happy Dragon Donation Card campaign. In 2010, Harris Teeter shoppers donated over $150,000 to United Way by purchasing a Harry the Happy Dragon Donation Card in the store. This year, the campaign takes place August 15 – September 16. Harris Teeter associates will be selling $1 and $5 Harry the Happy Dragon donation cards in all 203 store locations. Money raised through the donation card campaign will benefit the United Way chapter serving the community in which the store is located. “Harris Teeter and United Way have an amazing partnership that directly helps those most in need,” said Jane McIntyre, executive director serving United Way of Central Carolinas. “We are grateful for Harris Teeter and their employees.
