We are utterly excited to begin this year with the launch of Utterly Engaged Volume 1, our FIRST print limited edition! That’s right! We’re taking it off your screen and into your hands! If you’re reading this on our printed edition, we hope you enjoy this issue the way it was designed. We want you to tear off the pages that speak to you and put them up on your wall, share them with your girlfriends, make notes on them, or use them as inspiration for your big day and ever after.
In each issue of Utterly Engaged, we explore a theme. In this issue, we will be speaking matters of the heart - #HeartToHeart. A wedding may be a momentous occasion with extravagant festivities, but it is also sprinkled with small, intimate moments that celebrate the joy in love, life, and togetherness. From an intimate city wedding on a rooftop to a sweet backyard wedding with homemade elements, each of these occasions invites us to a heart-toheart conversation over great food and even better company.
We are also rolling out a brand new look in this issue. You might notice the new Utterly Engaged logo on the cover and you’ll see more changes happening to our website in the coming months. We are so excited, nervous, and anxious to share with you what we’ve been #HEART to HEART

edding gowns are madeby-design to evoke an experience of love. It's a familiar one-of-a-kind feeling not unlike falling in love with her one-of-akind groom. From the first pen stroke of a sketch to the selection of fabrics and lace; the detail work and embroidery to the last stitch of a button, much love and attention to detail goes into the design of a gown. Romantic and ethereal, the gowns featured in these images are representative of the craftwork involved in creating a tangible glimpse of love; the perfect inspiration for the bride. This shoot conceptualizes a a behindthe-scenes look at the creative process of wedding gown designer Annette Thurmon of Chaviano Couture.

Natural elements like fresh florals and wood furniture and accents will make this urban event feel warm and inviting. he 2014 Twigs & Honey collection by Myra Callan focuses on intricate
details and fine materials. This season, the collection was inspired to scale things down with tiny beads, petite rhinestones, and sweet charms. There’s a touch of sparkle, but not too much. Versatility and wearability. A certain lightness has been consuming her thoughts and emotions from the last year and having pieces that reflect that was key. Romantic yet ghostly, structured with a sense of fragility - concepts represented in the line. The 2014 collection with its flexible and lightweight hair vines, wired soft blossoms and minimally adorned tulle veils, is all about the charm in the details.

She wasn’t expecting an eloquent, witty, and intelligent response to her rambling and vague post, so she was quite excited and shocked. After exchanging a few more emails, they met up for a low-key date that involved a cocktail, nachos, and a lot of laughter.
