The University of Texas at Austin invites emerging teen artists to explore their artistic process, style and voice through ridiculously engaging programs in Art + Design. Our one-week Zip ST.ART and four-week ST.ART Intensive are led by practicing artists and exemplary educators who guide students through the creative process, from ideation to implementation.

CONCENTR ATIONS

Immerse yourself in the creative process with daily classes in core 2D and 3D alongside focused concentrations of your choice designed to expand your art practice, grow your portfolio and help you prepare for college and beyond. Our faculty of practicing artists and educators guide students through new (and sometimes untraditional!) materials and processes with projects that challenge students to listen and develop their own voice.

Improve traditional skills and explore nontraditional processes in a week of daily studio sessions designed to have you experimenting with new techniques and processes. Make new friends and learn from practicing artists and designers through hands-on classes that will expand your portfolio’s breadth.

ST.ART Challenge ST.ART Challenge is an application-based scholarship contest for exceptional artists in grades 8, 9, 10 and 11. Selected through a blind judging process conducted by a panel of UT Austin Department of Art and Art History faculty, staff and students, ST.ART Challenge winners receive funding for participation in the upcoming summer. „

Create an original artwork (no smaller than 8 × 10 inches) in your choice of medium(s) responding to the prompt: How do you see summer? Submit your artwork with a ST.ART Intensive application or Zip ST.ART registration.

First Place

Full Scholarship to attend ST.ART Intensive or Zip ST.ART

Second Place

$2,166  (Intensive) / $600  (Zip)

Third Place

$1,083  (Intensive) / $300  (Zip)
