Types of Membership

Current students have a membership to the Recreation Center. All non-student memberships cost $30 per month. • Alumni • Student • Spouse/Domestic Partner • Faculty/Staff • Retired Faculty/Staff

Payment Methods

Campus Recreation accepts cash, check, credit cards and Rowdy Dollars. UTSA Faculty and Staff are eligible to have their membership fee deducted directly from their UTSA paycheck through payroll deduction. New memberships and cancellations must be received by the 14th of the month in order for the cancellation or addition to begin the following month.

Guest Passes ($5.00/Day/Guest) Guest passes are available to individuals 18 years of age or older that are accompanied by a Campus Recreation member. The guest must have a government issued photo ID. Guests must remain in the same activity area as the sponsor. Members may sponsor up to two guests per day and are responsible for the actions of their guests. Passes are valid only on the date they are issued.

Equipment Checkout Locations Equipment for a variety of activities is available to check out for no additional charge. • Indoor Equipment: Membership Services • Pool, Outdoor Basketball and Sand Volleyball Equipment: Aquatics Office • Open Rec Field Complex Equipment: Field House • Outdoor Pursuits Equipment: Outdoor Resource Center • Fitness Equipment: Weight/Cardio Room Desk An individual who fails to return equipment or who returns damaged equipment must pay the cost of replacement value to replace the lost, stolen or damaged equipment.

Locker Rentals Locker Room Lockers (Recreation Center and Downtown Fitness Center) • Campus Recreation members are eligible to rent lockers on a semester basis only. • Lockers can be rented from Membership Services beginning on the first day of classes for each semester on a first-come, first-serve basis. • Members may share their lockers with other members. However, only the individual that rented the locker will have access to locker numbers, combinations or contents after clean-out. Locker combinations will not be provided over the phone. • Lockers not renewed or cleared out by the locker term expiration date will have the contents of the locker removed by Campus Recreation Staff. Contents are stored for 45 days after clean-out and then donated to charity.


Coin Operated Lockers (Recreation Center) • Coin operated lockers are available in the main corridor on the 1st floor of the Recreation Center. • The cost is $.25 per use. • Personal locks are not allowed on coin operated lockers. Personal locks and belongings will be removed by Campus Recreation Staff. • Personal belongings may not be left overnight in coin-operated lockers. Belongings will be removed by Campus Recreation Staff at closing. Day-Use Lockers (Recreation Center) • Day-use lockers are available on the second floor of the Recreation Center and by the racquetball courts. • Individuals must supply their own lock. • Personal belongings may not be left overnight. Personal locks and belongings will be removed by Campus Rec staff.

Towel Services

Campus Recreation provides complimentary towel service to members. Members present their UTSACard or RecCard when checking out a towel. Upon returning a towel, members must present their UTSACard or RecCard to have the item removed from the account. An individual who fails to properly return a towel will be assessed a fee.

Campus Rec Shop Campus Recreation offers a variety of sports equipment and accessories. Items available for purchase include; program area sweatshrits, athletic tape, headphones, eyewear/goggles, jump ropes, locks, nose clips, swim caps, weight lifting gloves, weight straps and racquetballs.

Facility Tours

Guided facility tours are available upon request. Current Campus Rec members are allowed to showcase Campus Rec facilities by giving tours to family and friends at least 18 years of age. Any group with someone younger than 18 years old is required to be led by a Campus Recreation staff member.

Forming a New Club 1. Consult with the Assistant Director of Club Sports Mario Rios about plans for the establishment of a new club. 2. Become recognized as a Registered Student Organization on campus through the Student Activities Office. 3. Turn in a list of at least five members more than the minimum to play the sport, with banner ID numbers, who will participate in the club for the coming year. Individual sports require at least five members to start a club. 4. Complete the following forms: • Club Sport Pre-Registration for New Clubs • Current List of Club Officers • Officer Agreement for each club officer 5. Obtain a letter from Campus Recreation that states the club has been formally established. This letter will be turned in to the Student Activities office.

The Aquatics Center is accessed through the Main Campus Recreation Center. The Aquatics Center features a lap pool comprised of three-25 yard lanes, a lazy river with volcano fountain, two cold spas, a recreational pool, two hot spas with grottos, two sand volleyball courts, an outdoor basketball court and an island for lounging. Just Around the Corner The Downtown Fitness Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Durango Building and includes strength and cardio equipment and a group exercise classroom. There is a full locker room located in the basement of the Durango Building. The outdoor Rowdy Sport Court is located in the Bill Miller Plaza.
