Your Rowdy Ready checklist will help you understand and keep track of items you will be required to complete as well as other items you should consider.

Your Account ACTIVATE YOUR MYUTSA ID After you’ve applied to UTSA, you should have received an email with a link and instructions to activate your myUTSA ID account. If you didn’t receive it or can’t find that email, please contact our One Stop Enrollment Center at 210-458-8000 for the link to be resent.
LOG IN TO ASAP ASAP stands for Automated Student Access Program. It is your student portal that allows you to access most of your student information and academic record at UTSA. As an incoming student, ASAP will be where you go to sign up for Orientation, review and accept your financial aid award, register for classes and much more.
SET YOUR PREFERRED E-MAIL You are issued a “myUTSA” e-mail address when you activate your myUTSA ID. All official UTSA communications will be sent to this email address, unless you change it. If you wish to use a personal email account, log in to ASAP to change your preferred e-mail address.
SUBMIT FINAL TRANSCRIPTS Incoming students meeting freshman requirements must submit an official high school transcript indicating graduation date and assessment scores. Students with dual credit must also submit final college transcripts. Transfer students admitted with work in progress must submit an official transcript once work is completed.

Orientation Requirement SIGN UP FOR ORIENTATION Orientation is required for all incoming new freshmen and transfer students. At orientation, you will: »» Meet with your academic advisor »» Register for classes »» Learn about academic policies and student resources »» Get your UTSA ID card »» Take part in UTSA traditions »» Meet other incoming students The Orientation Reservation System opens at specific dates based on your admitted term and student classification (Freshman or Transfer). You can access the system through your ASAP account.

Your family can also participate with you during Orientation. The Family Orientation program is designed specifically to introduce resources, programs, and services available to students. Register your family members when you sign up for Orientation.

Testing Requirements REVIEW YOUR TSI STATUS The state of Texas requires students to be assessed in areas of math, reading and writing via the Texas Success Initiative (TSI). Students who are not exempt from the TSI Assessment must take and report scores to UTSA prior to Orientation. Visit utsa.edu/rowdyready for a full list of exemptions and how to take the assessment.
TAKE PLACEMENT EXAMS (highly recommended) Certain degree programs at UTSA recommend that you take a Math and/or Chemistry placement exam, which could allow you to enroll in a higher-level course and help you graduate on time in four years. Placement exams can be taken through UTSA Testing Services.
Health Requirements SUBMIT MENINGITIS IMMUNIZATION Texas law requires all incoming students under the age of 22 attending a university in the state of Texas, including transfer students, to submit written proof of having received the Meningococcal Meningitis vaccination within the last five years. A student’s ability to register for classes at Orientation is affected by their Meningitis hold status. Students who need to be vaccinated must do so at least 10 days before the semester begins.
COMPLETE HEALTH TREATMENT FORM Students who are under 18 years old must submit a completed Consent for Treatment Form signed by a parent or guardian prior to registering for classes.

Apply for Financial Aid SUBMIT THE FAFSA A FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for you to be UTSA’S FAFSA considered for any form of Code: 010115 federal, state or institutional aid. Complete the FAFSA at fafsa.ed.gov, which opens October 1 for the coming aid year. Students must be admitted to UTSA to be awarded financial aid.
APPLY FOR UTSA SCHOLARSHIPS UTSA oversees a range of scholarships that are funded by the university and donors. To be considered for these, you must submit the UTSA General Scholarship application by the stated deadline. Academic colleges and departments administer their own scholarship programs and have separate applications. Review more details at utsa.edu/scholarships.
Apply for Campus Housing Because of high demand for on-campus housing, students are advised to apply early. You will need your myUTSA ID to apply for housing. On-campus housing is not required for freshmen, but research shows that students living on-campus are: »» more satisfied with their living experience and college experience »» earn higher grades »» have a more satisfactory social life »» participate in more student activities To apply for housing, visit utsa.edu/housing.
