in Utah. During the nine years of its operation (1933-42) it provided jobs and training to thousands of young men and produced both immediate and long-term improvements to public and private lands. The CCC program was the most popular part of the sweeping changes made by the newly inaugurated New Deal government of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
