¢ Tennessee recorded an 82-75 victory at Auburn March 6, 2013. ¢ It was UT’s seventh win in eight games. ¢ SEC Player of the Year Candidate Jordan McRae overcame a slow start to finish with 21 points, including 15 in the second half. ¢ Jarnell Stokes posted his 13th double-double of the season (including 10 in his last 14 games) with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Stokes struggled from the free-throw line, making just 1-of-10. But, the remainder of the Vols were nearly perfect, making 26-of-28 from the line (93 percent). ¢ The game was separated by one possession for a span of more than eight minutes, with the lead changing hands eight times midway through the second half. ¢ UT took a six-point lead on a Kenny Hall slam with six minutes left. HUBBS SIDELINED BY SHOULDER

¢ Tennessee basketball coach Cuonzo Martin announced Jan. 10 that freshman guard Robert Hubbs III will have season-ending surgery on his left shoulder this week. ¢ A native of Newbern, Tenn., Hubbs was hampered all season by the injury, which dates to last winter when he was a senior in high school. He wore a soft brace during all of UT’s games and practices this season. ¢ Hubbs appeared in 12 contests for the Vols, averaging 5.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in 18.3 minutes off the bench.

VOLS SECOND IN SEC WINS OVER LAST SIX SEASONS ¢ In league play, Tennessee is the SEC’s secondwinningest basketball program over the last six years, dating to the 2007-08 season. ¢ Tennessee’s 65 SEC regular-season wins during that span are second only to Kentucky (74). ¢ The next winningest teams are Florida (64), Vanderbilt (57), Alabama (52) and Miss. State (52).

CLAMPING DOWN ON DEFENSE

¢ Tennessee’s defense has been especially stingy during the last five games, as the Vols are allowing just 55.4 points per game during that span. ¢ Over those five games, UT’s opponents are shooting .355 from the field and .311 from 3-point range.
