Lady Vols Capture the 2013 SEC Regular Season Championship Even though the Lady Vols basketball team came up a little short in last week’s SEC Tournament, we would like to congratulate Holly Warlick and the team on their 2013 Regular Season Championship, finishing with a record of 23-6 (14-2). Holly was named the SEC Coach of the Year, junior Meighan Simmons was named the SEC Co-Player of the Year, and Bashaara Graves was named SEC Freshman of the Year. The Lady Vols will find out who their first round opponent will be in the NCAA Tournament on Monday, March 18. We will host the 1st and 2nd rounds in Thompson-Boling Arena on March 23 and 25, so we hope to see you there!

Men’s SEC Tournament

Tennessee Fund Staff Change

This past Saturday, our men’s basketball team capped their regular season with a 64-62 win over Missouri and will now turn their attention to the SEC tournament this week. Our first game is Thursday, March 14 at 3:30 pm ET against the winner of the South Carolina/Mississippi State game on Wednesday. If you are planning on being in Nashville for the game, please join our Tennessee Fund staff at a pre-game reception. The FREE event will be held at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame (located inside of the Bridgestone Arena) from 12:30 pm—2:00 pm CT. Refreshments and light appetizers will be provided. If you please to attend, please RSVP Brittney Holder at 865-9749694 or Bholder1@utk.edu.

As was mentioned on our last Vol Rep conference call, Ryan Thompson and Megan Kain have recently shifted positions within the Tennessee Fund. Megan, who was previously the Director of Annual Giving and has moved into the Director of Capital Campaigns position, where she will oversee the major gift efforts for our facilities and other capital campaigns. Ryan has taken her place as the new Director of Annual Giving, where he will now oversee all annual giving operations. Many of you have known both Megan and Ryan for a long time, so when you get a chance, please congratulate both of them on their moves.
