It isn’t good enough to know how to make money — it’s also knowing how to keep it. Though students pursue a degree to increase their likelihood of a well-paying career, one of the growing concerns in higher education is poor financial literacy. In response, USF started Bull2Bull seminars to promote fiscal education. On Tuesday in the Student Services Building, two Bull2Bull

educators, Jaclyn Bertrand and Shane Mangold, warned students just how easy it is for thieves to steal personal information and explored the relation between credit and identity theft. “Sadly, the world we live in means that identity theft is a constant threat,” Mangold said. “But with these tips, students can help better ensure their security from dangers of ID fraud.”

Students will meet today for a trial that will determine whether a newly elected senator, who is accused of harassing voters, violated campaign rules. Convening this evening in the Student Government (SG) Chambers on the fourth floor of the Marshall Student Center, the SG Supreme Court will hear the case against Saeed Sinan and decide if he broke rules prohibiting casting more than one vote and using a mobile polling station. According to John Quiroz,

the SG supervisor of elections, if Sinan is found guilty, he will be disqualified from the election and lose his seat in the SG Senate, which will likely result in an expedited election for the vacant seat from the College of the Arts and Sciences. The evidence submitted to the court includes a video of Sinan approaching a student in the Library and allegedly urging him to cast a vote in his favor while standing over the student. Quiroz, along with acting SG Senate President Abdool Aziz and former SG Director of Communications Maggie Hall, will be called to testify. In a statement submitted

to the court, Aziz wrote that he saw Sinan walking up to students on the night of Feb. 19 and urging them to use their phones or laptops to cast votes for him, as well as newly elected student body president Andy Rodriguez. In response to this, Sinan wrote to the court that he was helping a friend and INTO student who didn’t understand the voting directions. “After the website was open, I continued guiding my friend through the process as he did not understand the directions well, as he is not a native English speaker,” he wrote. “The only campaigning I have

Spoiler alert! USF students will know what transpires in the first episode of Game of Thrones’ fifth season before almost everyone else. The pre-screening will be held March 31 in the Marshall Student Center Oval Theater, almost two weeks before the episode premieres April 12 on HBO. Fans who are faculty and staff will have to cover their ears to avoid spoilers, however, as the screening is only open to students. Though the episode will not screen until 8 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. Renee Hunt, director of communications and marketing for Student Affairs, said she expects a crowd and students should arrive early to get a better chance at one of the 700 seats. Students are also encouraged to cosplay as characters from the show. Hunt said there’s also a possibility of a costume contest involving prizes or giveaways. The screening is brought to students by USF Housing and Residential Education. The university, which has partnered previously with HBO to provide HBO GO to students who live on campus, is a stop on HBO’s college tour. Students who live on campus interested in catching up with the series — renowned for its complex political struggles playing out in a fantasy world of dragons and snow zombies — can watch all the episodes on hbogo.com.
