HAOYANG (HOWARD) WEN David Beckham—the Most Influential Soccer Player in the World David Robert Joseph Beckham, who was the captain of England’s national soccer team, was born on 2 May 1975, and currently plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy. When it comes to Beckham, the first thing that most people consider will be his handsome face and fashionable clothes. However, it doesn’t mean his professional ethics and skills are weak. In fact, he is one of the best soccer players in England’s soccer history. He is considered as the best free-kick taker of all time by many fans and experts. In my heart, Beckham is a handsome sniper on the soccer field; he can always hit the goal from long distance.

Beckham has changed his looks several times.

Not only Beckham, but also his wife Victoria is very famous. Victoria Beckham was a member of the famous English musical group Spice Girl, and See Beckham on p. 3

Personality Profile

DIFFICULTIES ARE OPPORTUNITIES

SISI LIN Zoe Chen is a Chinese student who is studying at USC Marshall School of Business for her MBA program. Before starting her masters program, she had been at USC Language Academy for two semesters. Although Zoe is young, she has wonderful life experiences. Growing up in China and getting her bachelor’s degree in France, she has met people from all walks of life. During her stay in Europe, she communicated with people from various backgrounds and cultures, which intensely enriched her knowledge and broadened her horizons. She also travelled in many countries while in Europe. She visited Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. However, not everything went well for Zoe when she first arrived in Europe for her studies. She couldn’t speak any French, and language and communication became her major problem at first. Having no friends or relatives,

she lived alone. It was fortunate that she wasn’t defeated by those difficulties. She wasn’t afraid of making mistakes, and kept practicing speaking and writing French. By talking with native speakers and by making mistakes, she greatly improved her French Zoe used to be a law major in France. However, she changed her major to business when she came to America for her master’s degree. The major reason is that she realized the law she studied in France had restriction after she returned to China. She couldn’t practice what she learnt in a Chinese environment. “Difficulties are not challenges, but opportunities to me,” Zoe said. By overcoming difficulties, people become stronger and more confident. She sets an excellent example for students at Language Academy.

Movie Review: Mirror,

Mirror by Phoebe Zhang

“Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of all?” “Snow White is fairer far to see.” I believe that everyone had read the fairy tale Snow White in Grimm's Fairy Tales. In 1937, the Walt Disney company produced an animated film Snow White and Seven Dwarfs which was the first animated feature of Disney as well as the first animated film in the world. Since then, the image of Snow White grown in people’s mind—white skin as snow, black hair as the color of the night, red lips as blood and big eyes as bright stars. The story of beautiful princess and Mr. Right became many girls’ dreams. This time, Tarsem Singh produces a new story of Snow White which is about the prin-

First of all, this is the first time that Julia Robers plays a villain—an evil queen in her acting career over 20 years. Second of all, Lily Jane Collins plays a modernized princess who is not waiting for the fate cowardly, but fighting for herself bravely. Besides, Armie Hammer plays the prince cess struggles with her stepwho is very handsome and mother for winning back her wealthy and seven dwarves are birthright. Fitness to Go by Lilly Sabajan

A resistance band is a simple way to exercise and get a complete workout. What fitness tool can you use in your car or pack for a trip that takes up less space than a sock.? A resistance band is a 6-inch -wide and flat latex exercise tool that rolls up to the size of your fist and is available at any sporting goods store. With this band you can get a full body workout any where you go. The following three exercises hit most major muscles, so that you can get a big bang for your band.
