Akil Davis grew up with Hip-Hop dance in his everyday culture in Memphis TN. He received his Bachelors in Theatre from NYU TISCH School of the Arts, and has worked on many stages.

He has specializes in Balinese dance, Classical dance, Modern dance, Butoh, African, Ballet, Jazz, Kabuki, and Noh.

Megan Hornaday brought her background in classical ballet to the air, training with Rachel Bowman (Cirque du Soleil) and others before creating acts for Beyonce, W&B, and many more.

She specializes in silk, cloud swing, lyra, and dance, as well as performing and directing with her company, Animal Mechanical.

Marcus Anthony has drawn on his background as a physical trainer, martial artist, and aerialist to createan amazing impact both in the air and on the ground, dropping, flipping, and tumbling through acts that bring together peace and power. He will be directing his first full-length show in Spring 2015.

Sara Zepezauer found flight after an injury took her away from ballet, and began her NY career as an aerialist. After making her debut under the soaring ceilings of a Cathedral, she has since performed for parties, theatres, films, and public places, and directed her first soldout show, â&#x20AC;&#x153;The Secret Below,â&#x20AC;?.

Urban Circus NYC offers community classes to people of all ages and backgrounds, including free training for underprivileged children and donation-based classe through our non-psrofit, Katana Flight School.

1.5 COMPANY LOCATION Location is key to the expansion and success of the next phase of the Urban Circus NYC Company. We are seeking to either lease or buy a building of historic proportions, capable of housing Aerial Acrobatics (minimum 30’ ceilings), Martial Arts, Dance (sprung floors), and Theatrical Productions of all sorts (calling for truss, rigging, lighting, sound installation, etc.)

In addition to providing space for about 100 students of various disciplines to train simultaneously, the space should also have sufficient room to seat approximately 500 audience members, wether through traditional folding chairs, bleachers, or stadium-style seating.

This location should be arhitecturally striking, such as an abandoned church or repurposed bank building, and conveniently located close to public transportation of central public areas.

3.1b DEMOGRAPHIC DETAILS EDUCATION The Educational Program focuses on three very different markets - the Community classes, which are mostly recreational students just looking for an exciting experience (age 25-34) and the Professional Training Program, which specifically targets teenagers and young adults finishing one phase of their education and looking for next steps (age 18-24). The non-profit targets children both domestically and abroad (12-17).

Known as “The Crystal Generation”, our youngest demographic is also important - within it lies not only the future of our company in all its divisions, but the world itself.

PRODUCTION Our production demographic - or audience - is made up mostly of young adults ages 24-30, although the price point of tickets ($25-35) is more accessible to the 30-36 demographic, and should also be specifically catering to the VIP demographic of seasoned sponsors and Patrons of the Arts, who range from the 35-44 demographic all the way to the 65+. The backend - performers & tech crew - range from 18-34, a bracket also reached through promotional offers.

Although young adults (25-34) make up the majority of our customer base, the majority of the *money* - across all of the arts - comes from the elder demographic, up to 65+.

PERFORMANCE The Performance Demographic refers to our client base, those individuals who have been successful enough in life or in business to be able to afford quality entertainment and high-caliber acts at our upscale price point. 4.2 MARKETING STRATEGY 4.2a Grassroots Marketing The most essential component of the UCNYC marketing plan is word of mouth, spread between students, spectators, and supporters via the internet, public places, blogs, email campaigns, text messages, and other personal forms of communication. Because our mission and vision are deeply connected to community and sustainability, these personal stories carry more power than any corporate ad campaign could generate, connecting with individuals who will then develop a much deeper loyalty to our brand.

4.2b National / International Campaign In addition to our Grassroots campaign, UCNYC will reach out to communities across both the US and the Seven Countries on our Target list for KATANA INTERNATIONAL, directly contacting various Circus Schools, Theatrical Venues, and Performance Companies, offering opportunities for collaboration and continual training, particularly targeting talented teenagers in small town looking for next steps, as well as compatible cities that have the potential to host and support a full-scale touring show.

In addition, we will launch a digital version of a national Ad Campaign as early as Fall 2015, sending both status reports, and exciting opportunities for artists to participate in our programming both domestically and abroad. For amateurs and students, this participation will take place in the form of furthering education, volunteer activities, and professional development, while established and qualified professionals may volunteer with the non-profit or work in conjunction with the company to bring UCNYC wherever it needs to be.

4.2c Stencils Safer than wheatpasting posters and more economical (and environmentally friendly) than a sticker campaign, UCNYC uses stencils to leave an impact anywhere from sidewalks to telephone poles, desks, restroom stalls, and even cars. This generates the repetition necessary to create brand recognition, as well as the illusion of an unseen army at all times...or perhaps it is not so illusory after all. *** note : Urban Circus is a law-abiding organizaion and does not endorse illegal activity; all of our stencils are placed with owners approval and permission or on designated areas small businesses and public property. ***

4.2b PRINT Because of our environmental stance, UCNYC chooses carefully which graphics to bring to print, and uses 100% recycled paper whenever possible. Our print campaign is primarily focused on the Production aspect, printing Postcards and for distribution at dance and circus studios, clubs, and cafes, as well as Posters for recognition and connection (ie, “oh i heard of that....i meant to see their last show....i should go”).

In addition, we print distinct business cards for each of the 3 primary divisions, each with a different style - for Urban Circus NYC, we use MOO, which allows us to print over 100 different design, giving customers the feeling of trading cards that makes them want to “collect them all”, and pick cards that connect with them personally. Having a choice of cards makes customers feel special and involved, and much less likely to throw the card away without following up.

Katana Flight Foundation uses an entirely different aesthetic, printing atypical cards shaped like a bookmark - 8 1/2 x 2 1/2 - and beautifully embossed or engraved on quality parchment cardstock or luxe paper. This makes them impossible to file away in the back of a stack of business cards - and the quality makes customers feel guilty if they even consider tossing or discarding the card. At the very least, they will be prompted to pass it on, save it, or better yet, follow up.

AEONA uses a combination of the two techniques, featuring a minimal, glossy, embossed graphic on the back in black while featuring a full-color fashion photo on the front, appealing to professionals and the fashion-forward alike; ultimately, however, the UCNYC fashion line will not have any print materials at all, but will make digital marketing part of our platform as an eco-conscious collection. Rather, all “print” materials will exist in PDF or JPEG form, and will be plastered across the internet the way one would paste posters around a neighborhood.

Last but not least is our one and only concession to full-scale printing - the Season Booklet, which will come out once a year in September. This booklet will feature not only our upcoming show schedule but also information about our programs as well as ad space for sponsors and advertisers, allowing us to cross-connect with other businesses and generate enough revenue to pay for the paper and ink as well as the associated expenses. These booklets will be between 12-20 pages long and about half the size of a sheet of paper, similar in shape and feel to the successful L magazine but based more on the BAM season newslettters in terms of formatting.

4.2a MEDIA / PRESS In 2011, Seanna Sharpe climbed and performed from the Williamsburg Bridge, leading to an international media sensation that went instantly viral. Although the act was featured in thousands of magazines, newspapers, television and radio stations, and even full-length documentaries around the world, the press had been following her work for long before that; in 2010, she was named “One to Watch” by Entrepreneur magazine, as well as being featured in the Wall Street Journal and listed as #1 in L Magazines annual “25 under 25”. BEYOND THE BRIDGE, we have continued to offer interviews and allow articles and footage of our shows, although the content is now carefully curated to highlight the actual work on an educational and international level.

Unfortunately, Social Media does not pack the same punch for non-profits as it does for entertainment. The Urban Circus NYC page garnered over 1,000 â&#x20AC;&#x153;likesâ&#x20AC;? with a total budget of about $25, while the same amount bought the Katana Page only 200. (gone are the days of organic growth on FB) As it is often grouped in with the plethora of pet projects haunting the internet for money. Katana Flight Foundation will maintain an obligatory presence on social media while putting more effort into connecting with other non-profits, while UCNYC continues to develop, expand, and maximize our online presence on the forefront of social media, appealing to the masses.

4.3b WEBSITES Thanks to the luxury of an In-house Production Team, UCNYC does all of our own stunts - and Graphics. and Web Design. Each of our sites is customized to match the aesthetic of the individual division, while following a formatting that is consistent enough to help customers connect the dots between relevant companies without redundancy.

4.3c PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGNS UCNYC takes advantage of the ever-swelling sprawl of Promotional websites like Groupon, Gilt, and Living Social to reach out to a new customer base, offering one-time deals for first-time visitors and students packaged to keep them coming back (ie, we offer only 10 single class vouchers at a time, but we will sell 150 10-class packs, which establish a practice and a loyalty to teachers, students and studio.
