VETERANS RESOURCES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER

YELLOW RIBBON SCHOOL As a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program since 2009, the University of Rochester splits with the US Department of Veterans Affairs some or all of the remaining cost of tuition and fees beyond the annual amount payable under the Post-9/11 GI Bill. For Rochester students who have Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits at the 100% level, all tuition and mandatory fees are covered through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Several schools at the University of Rochester have signed on with this program. They include: •

The College of Arts, Sciences & Engineering

Eastman School of Music

School of Nursing

Simon Business School

Warner School of Education

THE ROCHESTER PLEDGE All qualified, admissible veterans of the United States Armed Forces with Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits at the 100% level admitted to the University will receive the Rochester Pledge. This scholarship, in combination with the GI Bill and any additional University funding, will cover full tuition for veterans with at least 36 months of service who are pursuing their degree. For veterans with less than 36 months of service, the scholarship amount will be pro-rated based on length of service. This scholarship ensures that those who have served honorably and sacrificed so much for their country face no financial barriers in attaining a higher education. To be considered for the Rochester Pledge, you must provide your certificate of eligibility. If you wish to be considered for additional assistance, please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS PROFILE.

VETERAN AND MILITARY FAMILY SERVICES OFFICE Since 2014, the Veteran and Military Family Services Office (VMFS) has served as a resource to new and current veteran students at Rochester. The office works with students enrolled at the College and attending classes at the University’s graduate and professional schools. The office will likely be your first stop on campus while you explore academic programs and veteran benefit options.
