DRAFT PLAN

Envisioning the Future University of Pittsburgh Pittsburgh Campus

Draft of Campus Master Plan October 2018

DRAFT PLAN

Envisioning the Future This document is a draft of our comprehensive campus master plan as we envision how our Pittsburgh campus can evolve over time, while cultivating community. This draft is based on more than a year of listening and collaboration among our staff, students, faculty and communities. Here you will find extensive information about the focal points, and possibilities, as we plan for decades to come. We encourage you to review this draft plan and, more importantly, attend an upcoming forum for a presentation. To find the dates and times of upcoming community meetings or to submit comments online, visit: campusplan.pitt.edu. We look forward to your questions and input.

DRAFT PLAN

The Planning Process • Listening tour with Pitt stakeholders and community stakeholders • Research on evolving transportation and building needs • Review of the Plan for Pitt to ensure alignment with the University's vision for the future • Review of ongoing Pitt, city, and community planning studies • Explore and vetted principles and ideas with Pitt and community stakeholders • First version of Campus Master Plan draft generated • Plan draft posted and available for public review and comment

DRAFT PLAN

The Pitt Advantage The Campus Master Plan draft considers Pitt’s unique characteristics: 1. All graduate, research and undergraduate programs are located in the same place 2. It’s a vibrant urban setting in the heart of a booming tech and innovation city 3. Health Sciences programs sit adjacent to a world-class health care system

DRAFT PLAN

ENGAGEMENT We began this planning process understanding that any comprehensive plan would need input from and collaboration with our campus community and our neighbors. In summer 2017, we began interviews and workshops with contributors, collaborators and leaders. This included community organizations, neighbors, elected officials, business and non-profit partners, as well as Pitt students, faculty and staff. Visit campusplan.pitt.edu to see a full list of contributors.
