How the Universities of Nottingham and Lincoln got together to successfully bid for more medical student places and set up a new medical school based in England's largest county.

Gisli Jenkins, Professor of Experimental Medicine in the Division of Respiratory Medicine, this year became the first University of Nottingham academic to be awarded a prestigious NIHR Research Professorship.

Jonathan Van-Tam MBE, Professor of Health Protection at the School of Medicine, was appointed Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England by the Department of Health. The world-leading epidemiologist took up the role from 2 October 2017.
