MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Over the past year, we have embarked on new initiatives to expand our reach in support of women and girls around our region and around the globe. Thanks to the support of our community and the Australian Government, we are proud to celebrate some exciting ‘firsts’:

• Launching our first-ever face-to-face fundraising program. This outreach program brings the magic of UN Women to more people than ever before, and generates ongoing support that the world’s women can count on. • Delivering a new bus to the women and girls of Port Moresby, enabling them to travel to work and school free from violence. This bus was funded by our first-ever crowdfunding campaign. We were overwhelmed with the response we received from Australian donors, and are thrilled to report the bus is used to transport an average of 320 women and girls each day. • Reaching a milestone of over 1000 Empowerment Champions – our program of monthly UN Women donors who join us in creating brighter futures for women and girls. • Celebrating the Australian Government signing its first multi-year partnership agreement with UN Women: a four-year, $31.16 million commitment to core funding, in addition to project-based support. The Australian Government is the fifth largest contributor to UN Women’s work worldwide. This partnership is a strong commitment to gender equality at a time when this support is hard to come by globally.
