This could be as simple as grabbing lunch together, going to a class at the gym, or touring campus. It is truly what you want to make of it. 1 2 3 4 5 Get healthy.
Start off the new year with cutting down on portion sizes by eating on smaller plates. This will make your meal look larger than what it is. Keep healthy snacks like dried fruits or nuts with you to avoid a bad last minuet decision at the snack machine. Also, try to stay hydrated by keeping a water bottle with you through out the day.
Allow yourself time to come up with a study plan to help you navigate those stressful college days. Set aside time in your schedule every day to study. During this time, turn off your phone and log out of social media. Use all of your necessary resources to get the most out of your tuition and make a killer GPA!
Whatever exercise works for you, stick with it! If you’ve been away from the gym for a while, don’t force yourself to perform at high speeds for a long period of time. Start slow (at least 30 minutes each workout) and gradually increase your routine. Continue to drink a lot of water and get plenty of rest. Weight loss usually happens when you’re fast asleep! Also, grab a friend and check out a class at the rec. There are even several free options!
UNT’s Student Activities center has great resources to help you discover your niche. Furthermore, there are a lot of organizations looking for new members at the start of each semester. What better way to make your mark than right now? Check out Student Activities in Union Suite 320 or log onto orgsync.com to learn more information about student organizations.
Make yourself available. There are over 36,000 students at UNT right now! One, or a few, of them are bound to enjoy the same things you do. Start off by making friends in class or attend a school function that interests you. Check out www.calendar.unt.edu to find out what event you can attend today!
