United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM), http://www.unsom.unmissions.org/ Acting on the recommendations of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the Security Council decided on 2 May 2013 to establish the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) by 3 June for an initial period of 12 months, providing the United Nations “good offices” functions — and a range of strategic policy advice — in support of the Federal Government’s peace and reconciliation process.

United Nations Political Office for Somalia (UNPOS): http://unpos.unmissions.org/ UNPOS was established on 15 April 1995 to advance the cause of peace and reconciliation through contacts with Somali leaders, civic organizations and the States and organizations concerned.
