GREETINGS FROM THE UNLV PRESIDENT Young, vibrant, and proud of our Rebel heritage, we are focused on working with our Singapore and Las Vegas communities to create the workforce of tomorrow through our world-class educational programs. We also have a number of nationallyranked research programs and are committed to solving complex problems in the world and dealing with issues of global relevance. Partnerships with internationally recognized entities like the Brookings Institution provide our students access to some of the most potent research and educational opportunities in the world. UNLV is as dynamic and exciting as Singapore and Las Vegas, and our bold approach to providing a first-class education is part of the entrepreneurial, innovative, and unconventional spirit that defines UNLV. Prof. Neal SMATRESK

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Singapore was established in 2006 as UNLV’s branch in Asia. Under the administration of the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration, it currently offers the College’s curriculum leading to the UNLV Bachelor of Science with a major in Hospitality Management in as few as three years of year-round study in both Singapore and Las Vegas. An accelerated two-year B.S. program is available to eligible Singapore citizen and permanent resident polytechnic diploma holders in affiliation with the Singapore Institute of Technology.

Degree-seeking undergraduates must be fully admitted as UNLV students; they and visiting students may earn U.S. academic credits during spring and fall semesters, summer and winter sessions, or on study trips beginning and ending in Singapore. Customized and open-enrollment executive education is provided on campus at Singapore’s National Library Building and at client facilities throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The campus is operated by UNLV Singapore Limited, a registered charity organization that is governed by its six-person board of directors, made up of four university employees and two outside directors from Singapore.

About UNLV The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is a doctoral-degree-granting component of the Nevada System of Higher Education, an agency of the state of Nevada in the United States of America. The university’s athletic teams and students are nicknamed “Rebels”.

William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration The William. F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration (Hotel College) is one of ten colleges at UNLV. Hotel College faculty members are recognized as global thought leaders and educational trend setters in management training relating to the study of hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, meetings and events, as well as gaming and gaming control. Students graduate from the college with Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Master of Hospitality Administration and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Executive education and certificate programs are offered worldwide, including at UNLV Singapore, in association with the International Gaming Institute and the Hospitality Research and Development Center.

“UNLV’s wide industry network and reputation gave me the opportunity to intern at a luxurious and iconic branded property in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The Bachelor of Science, Hospitality Management degree equipped me with the knowledge and skills that I apply every day at my internship.” Sophie Kye South Korea

HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT Our American university education allows students to grow their vocational interests grounded in more general education combined with technical expertise gained in management-oriented hospitality courses. Students engage faculty in an academically-open environment which encourages inquiry and debate and challenges accepted practices and theories. UNLV students in Singapore and Las Vegas balance academics with active industry involvement, student clubs and community service. UNLV offers a U.S. 120-credit Bachelor of Science degree (Hospitality Management major), that starts in Singapore and finishes in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A. Undergraduates generally attend classes full-time, taking the recommended schedule of courses in sequence. Students may be able to transfer previous course credit and work experience that count towards UNLV degree requirements. As part of the degree requirements, all students participate in an internship within the hospitality industry and obtain related work experience prior to graduation in Las Vegas. Students can earn their degree in as little as three years of study, starting at UNLV Singapore and finishing at the main campus in Las Vegas. Opportunities are also available to enroll in joint or other degree programs upon relocation to Las Vegas. This degree should be considered by those who desire the industry knowledge to begin their careers in the dynamic hospitality-related sector, but also want the general skills to move into responsible positions in other fields or obtain an advanced degree, such as a Master of Hospitality Administration, an M.S., M.B.A., J.D., or Ph.D. in the future.
