Calling all Bengalis! And……well…. Everyone else! ENGALIS UNITE is a club that was conceived in 2004 to bring together people of all nations and ethnicities and to enlighten them about the robust and colorful culture of Bengal. Our members range from Bangladeshis, Indians and Pakistanis, as well as Egyptians. Diversity is what fuels us to accomplish our goals so please don’t hesitate to join us and, even better, get your friends to tag along! Our main goal is to bring as many people as possible together and enjoy the company, while learning about the culture, and history of Bengal. Our bi-weekly meetings, in Union room 236, always have an awesome atmosphere, great company and conversation, and even better food. We celebrate all the Bengali cultural holidays, such as Shadhinota Dibosh (Bangladeshi Independence Day) and Noboborsho (Bengali

New year) as well as Eid and Diwali celebrations. Our biggest events are near the end of semester, such as the Alumni Reunion Winter Banquet on November 19th where we all get to dress up and enjoy a show. The show is put together by the members of the club, as well as alumni and friends from universities around the country, who come to Stony Brook especially to participate in the festivities.
So come join us! Find out for yourself where all the fun is! Our first general body meeting will be held on September 8th at 8:30pm in Student Union room 236. Keep a look out for our flyers indicating other special events such as our Annual BBQ! Dhonnobaad (Thank you in Bengali)!
