VOCAL ARTS INSTITUTE A week-long day camp with optional overnight/ residential component available. Campers explore the art of solo performance through classical repertoire, folksong and musical theater. Students will enjoy classes in movement, sight-singing and theory, and will learn the International Phonetic Alphabet — a useful tool in the learning of dictation for any language. The international faculty for the institute provide a unique opportunity for students both musically and culturally. The Vocal Arts Institute is in its nineteenth season. Past participants have performed consistently well in solo competitions such as ISSMA and Prelude Awards. The students will present several performances on campus and off, along with visits to area retirement communities.
