WHY SHOULD I STUDY ABROAD?

WHERE CAN I GO?

There are countless reasons to study abroad during your years at UIndy. Travel veterans will tell you it’s an awesome opportunity to learn a lot about yourself. Time abroad develops your cross-cultural skills and gives you a greater appreciation for how we each play a role in global society.

Anywhere you want!  You can study in almost any country through the University’s membership in the College Consortium for International Studies. Right now, students can participate in more than 55 programs in 32 nations across the globe.

Plus, your travels will increase your personal career development.  Most employers admire candidates who have spent time in another country, viewing them as motivated self-starters.

How much time you spend abroad is up to you. There are opportunities for short-term study trips as well as fullsemester or year-long programs.

And what better way to learn a language than to be immersed in its culture? Many of the study-abroad programs at UIndy allow you to spend time with a host family, giving you the opportunity to experience firsthand the everyday life and language of another culture.

HOW LONG WILL I BE GONE?

One popular short-term option is a May Spring Term course that includes a travel component. During this three-week term, you can enroll in one of the faculty-led study-abroad courses. Regardless of your destination or the length of your trip, studying abroad will expand your horizons and enhance your college experience. See a country or two, take some unique classes, and experience a whole new kind of learning.
