You are able to gain real-world insights and investigate real-business scenarios with industry visits/case study projects; as well as experience the industry standard management information system software ‘SAP’. The programme offers an opportunity for you to apply your newly acquired knowledge in this subject area through a three-month research project, undertaken during the summer, in order to demonstrate your integrated knowledge and professional development. Our programme aims to produce graduates who can apply this knowledge in a thorough, systematic, informed and creative way, in order to improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of organisations. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT) and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

“A lot of the Master’s courses we offer will have accreditation. We work closely with professional bodies, many with members worldwide, which offer a huge network that our students can tap into. It’s a win-win for both industry and postgraduate students.”

“Project management is at the core of business development at the moment. We expect students to make use of knowledge and experience they gain from our MSc, to make their product quality excellent and help achieve strategic objectives and goals.”

Types of research In addition to a traditional PhD, you could also undertake a Master’s by Research; a one year, full-time research degree. It contains little or no formal taught component and is attractive if you want a briefer researchbased degree or prepare for a full PhD. Alternatively, our practitioner and action-research based Doctor in Business Administration/Doctor of Public Administration (DBA/DPA) (see page 11) is a context-based professional doctorate, equivalent to a PhD.
