FINALIDAD U OBJETIVOS / PURPOSE AND OBJETIVES
La Filología Asturiana es un campo de investigación con larga tradición dentro de la Universidad de Oviedo, y con repercusión en el ámbito de la Filología Hispánica y Románica. A partir de los años 70 del siglo XX, la Filología Asturiana sufre un profundo proceso de modernización, incorporando novedosas corrientes de la Lingüística (en sus variadas ramas) y de la Sociolingüística. Nuestra trayectoria investigadora ha estado ligada a este campo del saber, en el que hemos trabajado en las líneas descritas anteriormente. En el campo de la Dialectología, nuestro interés se centra en la medición de la variación dialectal (dialectometría) y en la medición de las fronteras lingüísticas (horiometría). En el campo de la Gramática, nuestra orientación es de tipo estructuralista-funcionalista. En cuanto a la Lexicología, nuestros trabajos se han dirigido a la lexicografía y al estudio de la neología. Y en lo referente a la Sociolingüística, nuestro interés está en el contacto de lenguas. Asturian Philology is a research field with long tradition within the University of Oviedo, and impact in the field of Hispanic and Romance Philology. From the 70s of the 20th century, Asturian Philology suffers a deep process of modernization, incorporating innovative currents of Linguistics (in its various branches), and Sociolinguistics. Our research career has been linked to this field of knowledge, in which we have worked on the lines described above. In the field of Dialectology, our interest focuses on the measurement of the dialectal variation (dialectometry) and in the measurement of the linguistic borders (horiometry). In the field of Grammar, our orientation is structuralistfunctionalist. Concerning Lexicology, our works have been directed to lexicography and the study of the neologism. And as regards the Sociolinguistics, we take interest in the language contact.
