ounded in 1 986, Unity House is one of RIT's seven special interest houses. Our aim is to nurture students into strong and influential leaders in the RIT community, who are culturally diverse, impactful, and academically successful as a family unit. In order to accomplish our mission, we encourage our members to be active within the RIT community by participating in events on campus, volunteering in the community, and leading by example. Above all, we cater to the academic and social necessities of our members by providing academic support such as: tutoring at study jams, advice on classes, etc. As far as social necessities, we incorporate family into everything we do. For example, always traveling to social gatherings to-gether, having movie nights on floor during the weekends, or just simply having dinner with each other. In addition, our floor provides and atmospherethat promotes diversity and cultural thought through attending and hosting various social and academic activities that involve the entire RIT community, as well as being a comfortable place to call a home away from home. This year's yearbook consists of pictures from the past year and pictures from Unity House photo albums dating back to 1 987 in celebration of Unity House's 25th Anniversary! "Unity House, in my opinion, is a place where young AALANA students can come and grow together. Instead of coming to this college alone and uninformed, they all have a place they can come get to know each other and help each other out in any ways possible, whether it be academically, socially, personally, or emotionally. In RIT, our AALANA community faces many challenges and I think Unity House is definitely a stepping stone for high potential minorities to begin their road to excellence and achievement!"

.Vojuz Ipvtf"A leader, once convinced that a particular course of action is the right one, must be undaunted when the going gets tough. This quote embodies the strength and power that Unity House has to deal with any and every obstacle that comes their way. I have had a great experience working with the house and look forward to all the great things we will accomplish in the coming year." -Sherill Anderson, Advisor

Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed. ~Booker T. Washington
