The HEALTHY LIVING COORDINATOR coordinates services and programs for youth and seniors in the community. United Way funding increased the Healthy Living Coordinator’s hours to allow for lunch and after school programming keeping kids and adults in Clearwater active. Funding also goes towards youth who are facing barriers to participate in team sports.

of little buddies showed improved literacy skills
The IN-SCHOOL MENTORING PROGRAM provides students grades K–7 with a role model and a friend to talk to and share experiences with. Children who spend time with a mentor gain confidence, acquire new skills and competencies and develop an enhanced capacity to care for others. This program has been shown to dramatically increase attendance and social interaction in school.

Through a partnership between the District of Clearwater and Yellowhead Community Services the DUTCH LAKE COMMUNITY CENTRE will serve as a community hub in Clearwater. It will be a dedicated community space offering programming for youth, seniors and families where they can connect, learn together, form new friendships, and feel a part of the community.
