ALBERTO CORDERO

Alberto Cordero joined the UNH coaching staff in March 2011. He will be assisting Defensive Coordinator Scott James with coaching the linbackers for the 2011 season and will be in charge of preparing offensive scout team.

DiGravio came to the University of New Haven after coaching one season at King’s College (Pa.), where he coached the linebackers. DiGravio had an immediate impact in his first season with the Monachs, as two of his starting linebackers were named second-team All-MAC. He also recruited athletes from Central Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia while at King’s.

A native of Farmington, Maine, DiGravio played four-years at Mt. Blue High School. There he was a second-team All-State linebacker and first-team All-Conference utility player in 2002. DiGravio was also a semifinalist for the James F. Fitzpatrick Award – awarded to the top football player in the state of Maine.

HISTORY & RECORDS

Last season, DiGravio helped coach one of the NE-10’s best rushing offenses and New Haven Gridiron Club Offensive Player of the Year Victor Jones. In his first season, DiGravio was New Haven’s wide receiver coach.

471 yards in eight games before moving to linebacker as a sophomore. There, he totaled 169 tackles in three seasons. In 2006, he was the Bobcats leading tackler and was presented with the Robert P. Schmidy Courage Award.

2010 REVIEW

Ron DiGravio enters his third season with the Chargers as the running backs coach in 2011.

Alberto is also a familiar face in his hometown of New Haven where he has volunteered as a coach at both Wilbur Cross and Hillhouse High Schools.

Most recently, Cordero was an assistant with the Harford Colonials in their inaugural season in the United Football League.

Prior to working with the Colonials, Cordero earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology - Coaching and Administration at the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, Cordero served as a student assistant for the football program from 2006 to 2010. He helped the defensive staff and worked under coach Lydon Johnson.
