Empowered lives. Resilient nations.
Kormakitis (Kormacit) / Koruçam folkloric museum was opened in February 2012 in the rooms of the former school of the village. The building has been recently restored and converted into a cultural centre and museum by the United Nations Development Programme - Partnership for the Future (UNDP-PFF), thanks to funding from the European Union with contributions from the Maronite Welfare Foundation and the Kormakitis Community Council. The Museum brings together a collection of everyday objects from vintage clothing to farmers’ tools, craftsmanship, etc. The materials exhibited were voluntarily donated by the inhabitants of the village to the NGO Kormakitis Trust which, in cooperation with the Maronite Welfare Foundation, was responsible for the design and setting up of the museum.
