Getting to Know Dominique I chose UNCG because: when I met the girls I knew they would become friends for a lifetime. Secondly, being from the west coast going all the way to the east coast I knew it was going to be a challenge but I was up for it becuase I knew it would make me better and allow me to grow as a women. Lastly, as a child it was my dream to play Divison I softball. Post College Ambition: My post college ambitions are the same as they were before but now each step of the way when i acheive those ambitions I had once wrote down on a piece of paper I cross each one out and look to conquer the next. Biggest obstacle I’ve had to overcome: is being so far away from my family and learning how to deal with huge obstacles on my own, and across the country which have made me ultimately stronger. Funniest moment of my athletic career: When I showed up all ready for practice and ran out on the field and forgot my glove so I ran to grab it from my bag, and it was gone... I lost my glove and it is still a mystery of UNCG softball as to where it is. Pregame superstition: I always read a couple Bible verses before the game and the verse that stands out to me the most I always write on my forearm before the game in sharpie.
Most people don’t know: That I was a starting center forward for soccer as well as captain and I was going to college to play soccer. Favorite quote: Quit making excuses, putting it off, complaining about it, dreaming about it, whining about it, crying about it, believing you cant, worrying if you can, waiting until your older, skinner, richer, braver, or all around better, suck it up, hold on tight, say a prayer, make a plan and just do it. I can … make mistakes in life and allow those mistakes to define me but instead I chose to learn from those and allow them to make me a better person. I will …be the best I can in all aspects of life, always looking to better the person I am and not lose sight of the person I want to become. I will continue to be the best daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend, teammate, player and leader that I can be.
