Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Don’t miss out on all of the fun events at Residence Life’s Annual Winterpalooza in February, including Residence Family Supper at Boston Pizza! RESIDENCE COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH WEEK MONDAY, JAN. 27TH UNTIL FRIDAY, JAN. 31ST

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 20% of Canadians will personally experience a mental illness in their lifetime; however, mental health concer ns will indirectly affect ALL Canadians at some point through family, friends, & colleagues. Learn more about mental health with a series of evening events, such as a keynote speaker, a movie night, a discussion, and the opportunity to pledge to stand up against the stigma surrounding mental illness. RESIDENCE LIFE’S ANNUAL WINTERPALOOZA MONDAY, FEB. 17TH UNTIL FRIDAY, FEB. 21ST

Shake off those winter blues with a weeklong festival jam-packed with fun events! The schedule will include: • Rez Family Supper at Boston Pizza • Residence Life Auction • Minute to Win It Competition • Pie the Residence Life Staff • Rule-Bender Hallway Party

When it’s cold, keep your heat on & your windows closed! Having your windows open & your heat turned off WILL cause the pipes of the heating system to freeze & burst, which WILL result in flooding in your room & damage to your possessions. Please take our advice; we would hate for this to happen to you! If you have any questions or concerns, please speak with a member of Residence Life Staff.

UNB Labour Relations RESIDENCE COUNCIL 2014/2015 ELECTIONS MONDAY, MAR. 10TH UNTIL FRIDAY, MAR. 14TH

Then consider joining Residence Council for the 2014/2015 academic year! • Nomination forms will be available from RC members beginning in February. • Completed nomination forms must be returned to Katie’s office (Sir James Dunn A203) by 12:00 pm on Friday, February 28th to be eligible to campaign for all positions. • Campaigning will take place from Monday, March 3rd until March 7th. Start brainstorming ideas for creative posters & catchy slogans! • Elections will take place in the Mackay pedway between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10th.

Stay informed on the Faculty Bargaining Negotiations. Check your UNB e-mail accounts on a daily basis, and visit http://www.unblabour.ca for the latest updates. If a strike is to occur, Residence WILL remain open and food services will continue to operate for those with a meal plan.
