We would like to welcome all the returning students, new students, transfer from UNBSJ and other universities The purpose of this bulletin is to keep members and nonmembers updated on the events and news ASU hosts or are invited to. The year has started late for this year’s executives but we would like to introduce ourselves.

Announcements!! First General Meeting We will be having our first General meeting on November 1st, 2013, 6pm-8pm. Location: Tilley Hall, Room 125, UNB Campus. We are looking for committee members for our African Corner. All undergraduate and graduate students are welcome. There will be snacks and beverages. Movie Night

Annual Black Students Conference

Date: 25 October 2013 Venue: Ted Daigle Auditorium, St. Thomas Campus Time: 7-10 pm Movie: The Butler

United Black Students at Ryerson is hosting 5th Annual Black Students Conference. This year’s conference theme is #Blackness- A Generation [UN] Defined. From November 8th-10th in Toronto, ON. The goal of the conference has been to create and maintain a space where we can build bridges among the various Black communities and diasporas, develop a community focused on exploring and combating systemic and internal barriers that hinder our progress in society. Diversity Abroad Workshop This is a work workshop will be display for some of our culture, food and dance. The aim of the workshop is to explain why we do the things we do in Africa. Date: 13 November 2013 Venue: TBA Time: 6-7.30pm

African Rave II ASU’s first Party of the year. Come dance the night away. Date: 8 November 2013 Venue: Grad house Time: 10pm-2am Food will available. Drinks can be purchased at the bar. All are welcome.

Family Support Program ISAO Family Support Program is a program made to assist international student spouses with their transition to life in Fredericton by connecting spouses to resources available and facilitating a supportive community among the international student wives. Some of the activities include spouses could get involved are an English conversation group, a mother and child playgroup etc. If you would like to be part of this program or for more information, please contact Scholastic Isaya
