Zeta Tau Alpha Alpha Gamma Chapter, University of Michigan

Upcoming Events Zeta Day – March 19 Greek Week – March Zeta 5K – April 3

New Year, New Zetas! 2011 has brought many positive changes to the Alpha Gamma Chapter! Our new members are really becoming an integral part of our chapter, and we are more unified with all of our Zeta Events! This year we have had more sisterhood events, more service participation, and more involvement in the Greek community. Events have ranged from writing Valentines to cancer patients in the Women’s Health Center to Disney themed mixers. We have been a busy chapter and are very excited for future events to come!

Fleece Blanket Making! This month, Zeta collegians and alumnae got together to make fleece blankets for chemotherapy patients. These patients get cold during treatment, and the hospital needs blankets for patients. Patients get to keep the blankets after treatment and they are special because these patients will know that someone made it for them and there was love behind it. It was a great opportunity to bond with both old and new Zetas!

Princess Diana Trip! On January 22, Collegiate and Alumnae Zetas drove to Grand Rapids for a wonderful day of bonding. They went to Big O's Pizza where they had a wonderful lunch and had a fabulous time talking with each other. They then headed to the Grand Rapids Art Museum to see the Princess Diana exhibit. Highlights of the exhibit include: her fabulous tiara, infamous wedding dress and shoes, and an awesome collection of her clothing.

Valentine’s Day Service! Alpha Gamma got together as a chapter and created a sisterhood out of making Valentine’s Day cards for cancer patients in the Women’s Health Center at the University hospital. We had a fabulous time coming up with inspirational quotes to help the women feel better, and it helped us learn the nobility of serving! Getting the creative juices flowing was a great way for us to combine service and sisterhood!

Always a Bridesmaid...

We know that ZTA is in the business of making bridesmaids… and Alpha Gamma had a chance to experience a wedding for no one at a our last date party! We had a fabulous time at the Five Points Sheraton in Ann Arbor in mid-February. With our very own wedding crashers and bouquet toss, the girls had a great time dressing up—we even had a bridal party complete with matching dresses and a flower girl with rose petals. It couldn’t have been a better time! 2

ZETA SISTERHOOD! Our Sisterhood Chairs, Karen House and Anna Peters, have been very enthusiastic about their new positions! This year we have had many new events that have been fun for all. Right after holiday break, we had a Disney Princess Movie night. Girls came in their pajamas or dressed like a princess and watched numerous Disney films, including Little Mermaid, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and more! In addition, there was a Glee night with trivia and prizes.

Game night was another fabulous sisterhood at the house! It was a fabulous way for members to bond over a fun activity. Members played board games ranging from Twister and UNO, to Monopoly and Jenga! The following week had a sisterhood study night with study breaks with food and small games. With the girls finishing midterms and preparing for spring break, the small study breaks were fabulous! These new sisterhoods allow the girls to let loose and get to know their sisters in a new light!
